"You have the list?" Sir Geoffrey inquired. Sergeant Ruddock pulled from his pocket a buff envelope. From this he extracted a sheet of typewritten paper, which he passed to the High Commissioner. "A list of names," said Geoffrey Robinson slowly. He passed the paper to Chief Inspector Wilkins. "Several of the names I recognised as being those of residents in Eastrepps," Ruddock continued. "You will observe that some of them are underlined in red ink, and that there is a date against each of them stamped with a rubber stamp." "These are the names underlined and dated," said Wilkins.
