She heaved, and coughed and spluttered, her chest burning.

She opened her eyes to see a young man carrying her, and another person threw a towel over her as they walked away from a small crowd by the river.
Her teeth chattered as she shivered.
The man gently tucked her in the back of a car, a woman got in front, and they drove fast away from the river.
Prim kept coughing occasionally, and could not make sense of what was happening or where she was, but she felt safe with these people as they spoke spanish among themselves in front.
