Chapter 21

1210 Words
As much as I wanted to be confident, my embarrassment grew when I saw some people gazed at me. My head automatically bowed down while walking, making my straight hair curtain and hide my face. I'm heading to Narusawa for Souru again. I want to spend more time with him, I don't want him to feel alone until he goes to the unliving world. Who knows when he'll disappear and have peace in his heart. On the other side of my mind is the idea of helping him, whatever that can help him. My appetite for eating pancakes came back, making my stomach make a sound of crunch. McDonald's offers good pancakes . . .McDonald's. I suddenly remember Zire, he brought me there once. Then, I thought about Faya.  Faya admiring Zire is a good sight to see. I can see her giggles and smiles. Her smile that I didn't get a sight of for months. I wonder if Faya will share her problems with me when time comes. I know it's still there, inside her, bottling up. She's brave but I want to be with her. Maybe she's rebuilding the friendship we have slowly.  Instead of riding a train to Metro Tokyo, I ride up to Minato City. It's Faya's city and that's where Zire is working. I might see one of them or both with my pancakes. It's like hitting three birds in one stone. The ride on the train made me uncomfortable. Some people held their gazes on me longer than usual. It made me uncomfortable, making me fidget my phone on my seat. The thirty-one minute ride feels like a day with some passengers’ eyes. Maybe I shouldn't wear denim shorts like this— but my mother likes it and it makes me feel a little bit pretty. I sighed and hurriedly went out of the train as soon as the train stopped at Daimon Station. The walk from the station made me calm. The people were busy on the streets of Minato. As if on cue, my eyes stopped on the sight of Faya. She's wearing an oversized shirt that reaches her mid-thighs, making her shorts unseen, Faya must still be sleepy since she's yawning on this side of the street.  Faya's face seems sad and stoic at the moment, like how I've seen her on some gloomy weekdays before. Maybe her thoughts are running wild as she walks.  “Fay!” I shouted and her eyes widened upon seeing me. My smile grew when her eyes lit up, leaving the sadness pasted on it.  “Oh em gee, Sei!” she shouted back and run towards me. “Oh em gee! I missed you! What brought you here?!” she squeals, making other pedestrians draw their attention to us. I let go of Faya first and smiled at her. “I'm here for pancakes.” I chuckled. Her right brow raised. “You ride all the way here for a pancake? What the heck, Kanasimi?” I chuckled. “Yeah but, I was hoping to see you here with my pancakes and . . .” “Aww! Of course you missed me!” she pretended as if she's touched and chuckled. “And what?” “Zire. I was hoping to see Zire here, and you with my pancakes. Like three birds in one stone—” “No way!” she overreacted. “That gorgeous man in Tokyo?! The one who waves at you?!” I slowly nod and she squeals again with her hands clapping this time. “I'll come with you!” she offered and I let her snaked her arm on mine. “Why do you want to see him?” “Nothing. He works on a McDonald's branch here where I want my pancakes and you live here too. It's just a probability to see him here.” I shrugged. Faya's lips grinned and nodded. “So which branch is it?” she giggled and I just chuckled. Her wide smile hinted at excitement to see Zire.  We walked side by side on the streets with Faya's non-stop talking again. She verbally and physically expresses her excitement on seeing Zire, she laments on how plain she looks like plain today and I have to roll my eyes at that. Faya is a beautiful woman, how come she looks plain.  We reached the McDonald's nearby and Faya entered the door first. Clutching my tote bag tightly, I followed and entered the chain. Some people inside glances at me and I have to look down. Faya's arms snaked on mine again and pulled me towards the counter to order.  The line moved and it's our turn. Faya asked me what to order, she won't eat for the reason of having her phone only.  “My treat. Order what you want.” I whispered and she clapped. “You won't regret treating me, Sei.” she chuckled playfully. The man on the counter clears his throat making our eyes glance on his way. My eyes blinked enumerable times as our eyes met. The familiar dead blue eyes are staring back at me. “Mega burger, Large fries, Sundae . . .” I heard Faya talk but my mind literally is blank.  The dead ocean blue eyes are wonderful to look at. “What's your order?” he said coldly with his eyes still on me. I gaze away from him and recall what I wanted a while ago. “Uhh . . .I'll— have what she has.” I signaled Faya on my side and I heard her snort. “Copycat.” Faya chuckled, not noticing my uneasiness. “Add five pancakes on her order. She's craving for it.” The cold manly voice repeated our order fast and I just nodded, not paying attention.  “Is Zire here?” I hear Faya ask the man and my eyes widen. I pinched the side of her waist and raised my brow when her eyes glanced at me. “I just asked.” she chuckled while giggling. “S— sorry.” I said to the man with ocean blue eyes avoiding his eyes. He stayed silent and gave us our receipt. I pulled Faya almost immediately to find a seat to dine. “You're so cute, Sei.” Faya said as we sat. “The man stares at you the whole time and you don't even smile!”  I scratch my nape at that. I thought she didn't notice it. “It's making me uneasy.” I said as a matter of fact. She chuckled. “You're always uneasy, Sei. And! Don't deny it. Loosen up, Sei. You're so guarded.” Faya advised and I sighed in defeat. “I'll try.” I just said and Faya's mouth began talking nonstop again. “Yow, princess!” the familiar voice of Zire said as he went near our table. I swear, I saw Faya's face turn tomato-like with a huge grin. “Oh, hi!” I smiled at him and he sat on the vacant seat beside Faya. “Zire, that's Faya. Faya he's Zire.” I introduced them as their eyes locked for a moment.  Copyright©2021 ItsMeYourDay Day Biasca
