Chapter 27

2306 Words
Waking up is really what I wanted. My dreams are full of ocean blue eyes with Seikatu's voice! I thought I'll sleep peacefully but then he happened. The scene on the forest's tree is what I dreamed of and it feels so weird! Me, who is leaning in a tree's trunk and Seikatu in front of me, he's so near while saying that his brother is not dead!  Then my alarm clock rang to its life. I sighed, not because I don't want to wake up but it feels like someone is tickling my heart through that dream— heck! What did Seikatu do to me? Sorting all my thoughts, I got up, fixed my bed, took a bath and dressed. It's Sunday and maybe I can start talking to Seikatu? Wearing my denim jeans paired with a white hanging button down blouse, jacket, and Nike running shoes— in case I do some running and chasing again. I went down to the living room where I found nothing. My parents must be out, as always.  I'm craving for some Yakitori and Gyoza, I smiled. At the restaurant I'm dining in, my phone rang having Faya on the other line.  “Sei!” her loud girly voice made me smile, I can imagine Faya having a very bright smile to her face. “Well, good morning to you.” I chuckled. “It's indeed a very good morning! Anyway, where are you? You aren't busy or studying, right? Are you resting or are you available today?” Her excitement is contagious. I chuckled again. “What's with you? I'm at the Metro eating Gyoza and Yakitori,” and will chase Seikatu afterwards. I want to add but it would be strange to Faya since she didn't know my most recent whereabouts. “Oh . . .you might have some plans today.” her voice became hesitant but giggled to something. “But hey, I'm at Minato. Zire will— will—” she giggled again. So, she'll be with Zire. My instincts are sensing that something is going on with the two. Knowing Faya, there will be. My friend is hot chic anyway. “Zire wants to go somewhere with me! Sei, it's a date!” she's literally cheering.  My grin grew wider. “You'll be a good couple—” “And oh! I called you because you might want to come and have a double date with us.” Faya cutted me off and has a teasing sing-sang tone on her voice. I frowned. A what!?! “No way. No way. No way. Don't try setting me up, Faya. No way.” “Calm down.” she chuckled. “I'll tell them that you're not coming.”  “Okay?” What's with Faya today? Playing cupid? How love plays my friend.  “Faya!” I heard a manly voice on the other line. I think it's Zire. “I think you had a good sleep since you're prettier today.”  Faya giggled and chuckled. Okay? My friend forgets me? I should hang up, right? “I did not, your eyes might become clearer today.” she chuckled again.  I can't believe I'm hearing their sweet lines. I'll hang up, I can't stand this sweet conversation— “Sei, can't come. Well, she's not fond of dates or . . .lover.” that made me stop from hanging up. “Seikatu, bro! Your date stood you up!” Zire laughed and what the heck? What. The. Hell. Seikatu is my date? He agreed?! I must say yes to Faya, right? So I can talk to Seikatu about his brother. “Fa—” “I assumed that and will just serve at McDonald's today.” Seikatu's voice cutted me off from saying yes. If Zire and Faya are on a date and Seikatu will be at the fast-food chain, then I'll have more space to talk to him without minding my friend's business. Yes, I'll just talk to him at McDo. Zire tsked. “You can just asked her parents—” I hung up. I'll go to Seikatu at Minato after I finish eating my cravings.  He agreed on a date with me so he might want to talk to me too? What does he want to talk about? Right. Souru.  This is for Souru, not for anything else.  Get a grip, Sei. Seikatu won't like you— and why am I thinking that he'll like me?  After the last piece of Gyoza, I decided to call Guki. She'll help me to avoid thinking of the man owning an ocean blue eyes.  “Sei? Are you okay? Haven't heard from you for days.” Her soothing voice is so calm. “Yes, I'm fine. Sorry for not visiting. I got busy and I'm seeing a shrink as per your advice.” “Really?! Thank heavens! You're really fine? Why did you call them?” Guki might be studying since I heard some clicking on a keyboard? “Yes, I'm so fine— well, not really. I just want to ask you for advice.” I might be disturbing her. “What happened?” worry filled her voice. “Nothing happened but—” Seikatu happened. “There's this man I met so recently and . . .” “And? Go on.” I bit my lower lip. “And . . .I met him, accidentally and met him again, unplanned and . . .” Gulping a bile on my throat, I sigh. “I can't get him out of my mind and . . .he invaded my dream last night . . .and my system feels weird whenever he's near and . . .I want to see him but I don't want to either?” my voice sounds like almost a whisper. Biting my lower lip again, I waited for Guki's response but there's just silence. She might want me to tell her more? “I want to get rid of that weird-strange feeling in my system when he's near. I also want to not to think about him but . . .how can I do that?” My uncertainty grew more when I heard Guki chuckled and laughed endlessly. “Oh— my god!” is she watching some humor movie? “Uhm . . .Guki?” “Oh my god, Zyosei!” she said and laughed. “Do you like him?” “No! Of course not!” my voice rose up and made some other diners look at me. “No.” I said more calmly, not in a defensive manner. “My advice is . . .just let it be.” she giggled. “And update me about this, please? I'm excited for the outcome.”  The heck? Is she playing with me?  “Okay?” “Enjoy what you're feeling and no— you can't make him leave your mind.” she chuckled. “How love works, it works.” “Where not talking about love here?”  “Uhuh—” I can see her cheeky grin by just her  voice and tone on the other line. “We're not but we'll talk about it soon.” she chuckled again. “I don't know, maybe not?” “We'll see. Aren't you going to the man in your mind?” she's more-like teasing me. “Yeah, after I talked to you— how did you know?” Does this future shrink a fortune teller now? Guki chuckled. “I just know so . . .take care of your heart? Bye.” “Bye?” Then, she hung up.  Everybody is just acting weird.  I sighed and paid my bills before going back on my track to Minato where Seikatu is. The ride from Metro Tokyo to Minato City went faster than normal— for me. Seikatu bugs my mind every minute and just damn. I can't do anything about it but I was more excited to see him like heck.  I know I'm doing this for Souru but it feels like it's for my benefit too? This feeling is so frustrating and weird.  My head was facing the floor as I walked inside the McDonald's Minato. Here's that thing I want to see him but I don't want to also. I sat on the vacant couch and table and sighed, staring at the table in front of me.  What now?  I'll just go to Aokigahara. I can't face Seikatu after yesterday.  Standing up, I sat down again. What the heck am I doing? My hands involuntarily made my fingers peel off my lips’ skin. Should I apologize to Seikatu? I just stayed like that for ten or twelve or more minutes, doing nothing but peel. Then a hand grabbed my hand from my lips that made my mouth hang slightly open. “Blood isn't an alternative ketchup.” I swear my pupils dilate and my nape feels cold. Even my hands went cold upon hearing his voice! Holy sheep!  I gulped. Sheep! Sheep! Sheep! Seikatu is holding my right hand! Holy mother of cows!  My left hand tightened its grip on my phone while I stayed like that. What the fur! Making my eyes look at him, it went straight to a pair of ocean blue eyes who's staring at my face. My stomach tightened and mixed— whatever it is. Seikatu moved his other hand and wiped my lips with a tissue paper. “It's bleeding.” with his eyes on my lips. I snapped and moved my eyes from him to his hand. “I can— uhm my hand.” I'm stuttering like a sheep. I pulled my hand from his and pulled the paper out of his other hand to wipe my lips with my own. My eyes stared at the paper and it's color red? I guess it's the blood from my lips. Okay, I'm just distracting myself, aren't I? “Thank you.” I said without making eye contact. His eyes on me are making me uncomfortable.  “If you finish spacing out, you can order or leave. Don't peel off your lips’ skin.” Seikatu's manly voice echoed in my head. “Uhm . . .I'm sorry.” I said not giving a glimpse of him. I stare at the table instead. It's so smooth and cute— I'm distracting myself, okay. I looked up to Seikatu and he's gone!  Standing up, he's already on his way to the door. He's leaving? “Wait!” I shouted to draw people's attention. “S— sorry.” I bowed and ran to chase Seikatu. “Hey! Wait!” Why do boys walk so fast? “Wait!” I shouted again. Seikatu halted on his tracks but then he's still so far from me so ran faster to be on his side. “W— wait.” My heavy breathing says that I'm really not into sports. When I looked up, I met Seikatu's eyes and for Pete's sake he's so handsome under the sun— or as always. He's straight jet-black hair, roman nose, square jaw, reddish thin lips, frowning upward brows and hooded eyes with my favorite color in it.  Seikatu raised his brows and made me look down. He's wearing a white McDonald's collar shirt— their uniform, black jeans, and Nike sneakers and an apron. I just noticed. “I'm sorry about yesterday.” I said, shifting my gaze from the ground to the small logo on his shirt. “But—” “Ms. Kanasimi.” I looked up. He's so tall! Near six feet, perhaps? “W— what? I swear, it's not a prank and it's not an invented story, either.”  “Move aside.” He tilted his head a bit to signal me.  “No! I have to talk to you.—” “And I have to throw this garbage.” Eh? What? My eyes wander through his hand and there, he's holding a trash bag. I move aside. “Sorry.” but Seikatu just dumped the trash on the bin and walked back to the chain. “Hey!” I followed. “I'm working.” he simply said and entered the building, going straight to the counter where I can't follow. He agreed on the double date so he must want to talk to me too— or not. I'm assuming things.  I bit my lower lip as an idea popped into my head.  Regretting that I didn't bring some notes or my new books with me, a small smile crept on my stinging cupid lips and exited the establishment.  I bought a notebook, and a pen first before going back to Seikatu's workplace.  “Cheeseburger and fries please.” I ordered at the counter. “What's your drink, ma'am?”  “Orange juice, please.” After receiving my receipt, I told the personnel on the counter to just deliver my order at my selected table— I mean make Seikatu deliver my order. Settling myself to where I sat a minute ago, I started writing what I learned at school while waiting for Seikatu. But then, instead of writing, my hand did a calligraphy of Seikatu's name. Holy sheep. “One Cheeseburger with fries and orange juice, Ms. Kanasimi.” His voice sounded so serious and I hurriedly closed my notebook in panic. I just wish he didn't see his name. I smiled at him. “Thank you, can I talk to you—” “I'm working—” “After?” I smiled at him. “Please—” “Come again, ma'am.” he said, cutting me off and walking back to his spot. Right. I'll wait until his shift ends today. Copyright©2021 ItsMeYourDay Day Biasca
