Chapter 10 - The Search

My head was hurting when I opened my eyes, I tried to get out of the bed but felt something heavy on me, turned to find sam sleeping with his arms around me.

a smile formed around my lips, I leaned down to kiss his forehead and tried to get out of his grip but he has a really strong grip. It took me a little effort but I succeeded to get out of his grip and from the bed. I went to the washroom to freshen up, we were both in my room, a lot of thoughts were going through my mind, everything seemed so difficult, I had no clue where to start.

I removed the robe I was wearing and got into the shower, trying to remember what the dark figure said but could not figure out anything significant. after finishing everything I came out of the washroom to find an empty bed, I don't know why but I felt a spang of disappointment inside me. I moved closer to the bed and saw a note which said

" Get ready and come down to the dining area in half an hour, we have a lot of work to be done today"

"P.s. I love you, my mate"

Again I felt a smile form around my lips. I got ready and came down to the breakfast table to find everyone already there. I sat down in the chair next to Cara, while sam came and sat next to me,

" Are you better now?" he whispered into my ears to which I responded by nodding in a yes.

"I am sorry I had to leave and freshen up before you came out of the washroom because we had a time crunch, I am sorry I couldn't check on you first thing in the morning," he said taking my hand into his.

" you cannot be more understanding than this," I said smiling.

"I found something," Jasper said

I turned towards him a little confused but also a lot relieved, now at least we have a direction to move towards.

"It's not much but its at least a direction to follow," he said turning his gaze towards Sam.

"I read about a library that is located near in the Abel valley, which is hundreds of years old and might have what we are looking for, the most amazing part is that the caretaker of the library, is 1200 years old and might be able to tell us whatever we want to know"

" 1200 years old seems like a trouble for us," sam said placing his fingers below his chin.

" yes, you are correct, that library belongs to a vampire," Jasper said," but the silver lining is that Abel valley, does not belong to any vampire clan and as per my sources this caretaker believes in working alone and keeping himself out of any kind of power struggle, so we might have an advantage there" he tried to weigh the situation.

" But why will he let werewolves go through his library" sam sounded like he still needed a lot of convincing

" he might not but he will definitely not have a problem with a human", I interrupted in there give and take.

" that is too risky"' sam pointed out, looking concerned

" it is a risk worth taking ", I said " rather I can say it is the need of the hour, we have to do it "I tried to argue with him.

" she is correct", we all turned towards alpha Amanuels direction who was entering the dining area.

" but father.." sam tried to say something but before he could finish his sentence his father interrupted saying " Sam being a leader means taking responsibility of your people and taking care of their safety and security, hope already is the leader to her pack and has their responsibility on her shoulder and now, I can say proudly she is future luna of our group making her the caretaker of our pack too", he said sitting down next to Jasper.

He took a heavy breath and continued" I know it is a lot to ask but I would not expect anything less from any of you, I would want you to find out what is going on and finish it because our people are scared of these events and it fails me as a leader to the group".

" father ..", Sam tried to say something but Alpha Amanuel continued to speak "a few years ago it would have been different but as I learned from alpha Mercy I would like to ask both of you,

Sam and Hope do whatever you can to save your people, they are your responsibility and they are your children", a pinch of pain could be felt through alpha's speech.

"I will do whatever I can Alpha to save our people," I said assuring him that I understood where he was coming from" and I am grateful that you consider me worthy enough to be accepted as luna and to be given the responsibility of your pack, I mean our pack", I said getting up from my chair moving towards alpha Amanuel.

" we will do everything we can to protect our people ", I said but before I could finish my sentence I felt sam holding my hand and saying " we surely will".

It was 6 o clock in the evening and all of us packed our bags, important stuff and made the car ready to be left for Abel valley, it was a 14-hour drive and we all needed to find the answers as soon as possible.
