Then they cry and laugh and head back to pack up, having 2 hrs before they have to leave Vegas, but before that Damon says we have to consummate this marriage while we have a chance and wiggles his eyebrows at her. Lexi rolls her eyes but grins, already heading toward the door with Elena. “We'll handle the packing. You two have... newlywed business to attend to.” Elena stifles a laugh as they slip out, closing the door behind them. Damon wastes no time, backing you toward the plush suite bedroom. His tuxedo jacket is already discarded. “Mrs. Salvatore has a nice ring to it, don't you think?” His hands slide up your sides, careful of the delicate wedding dress. He continues, “Though I'm thinking this dress needs to come off. Slowly.” His dark eyes burn with hunger and love intertwined. “Oh God, yes,” she moans, then says, “Don't you dare mess this dress up. I want to be able to hand it down,” Evie threatens as she kisses down his neck towards his mark. Damon moans softly. “I’m going to spend the rest of our lives worshipping you, Evie. You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” “Oh yeah? Even when I’m as big as a house in a few weeks?” she teases with a quiet laugh, pulling him gently back onto the bed. Damon chuckles against her neck, the warmth of his laughter sending a pleasant shiver through her. “Especially then. You’ll be carrying our child, and you’ll still be the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” He kisses her with all the tenderness and devotion in his heart, his hands tracing her curves as though committing every inch of her to memory. “Big or small, it doesn’t matter,” he whispers against her lips. “You’re mine...and I’m yours.” As they hold each other, the soul bond between them glows with quiet brilliance, responding to every heartbeat, every kiss, every whispered promise. It was more than desire now. It was love woven into magic itself, binding two souls together more completely than either of them had imagined possible. Outside the bedroom, Lexi and Elena moved efficiently through the suite, packing the essentials for their hurried departure. Elena zipped the last bag closed before checking her phone. “Bonnie says the cloaking spell will hold for another twelve hours,” she said. “We’re still safe.” Lexi zipped another duffel bag. "I'll call around once we land and have anything important shipped over. Everything else can stay behind for now. We've got bigger things to worry about than luggage." Wrapped in each other’s arms, Damon and Evie found comfort in the quiet certainty of their bond. The fear, the uncertainty, and even the nausea that had plagued her only moments before seemed to melt away beneath the peace they shared. For a little while, there was no Klaus, no prophecy, and no impossible future to outrun—only two souls clinging to the precious certainty that, whatever came next, they would face it together. Damon says, voice raw with emotion, “I love you so damn much.” A sharp knock at the door interrupts the moment. Lexi is calling through the door. “As much as I'm happy for you two, we've got twenty minutes. Plane's fueled and waiting.” Damon groans, rolling reluctantly away but keeping one arm wrapped around you protectively. Damon says, “Worst timing ever,” and pouts. Evie giggles and says, “No 3 minutes ago would have been worse.” She giggles again, and his eyebrows shoot upwards, and he laughs a full-body laugh and says, “Yeah, you're right” Damon's laughter fills the room—genuine, unguarded, the kind that makes his whole face light up, as he says, “Fair point. Three minutes ago would've been catastrophic timing.” He rolls out of bed, already moving with purposeful energy, grabbing clothes and tossing them onto the mattress beside her. From the living room, Stefan's voice carries through. “Car's downstairs. Driver's ready whenever you are.” Lexi appears in the doorway with fresh clothes draped over her arm, deliberately not looking at the rumpled bed as she holds them out to them. “Here. Put these on. We're wheels up in fifteen.” Damon pulls on dark jeans and a black shirt, then reaches back for Evie, offering his hand. “Come on, Mrs. Salvatore. New Zealand's calling” Evie looked around the suite before turning back to Damon. “So...what do we actually need before we leave? Should we stop for supplies? Baby stuff? Or can we have everything delivered once we get to the cabin?” Damon wrapped an arm around her waist, already thinking several steps ahead. “We'll travel light. Passports, cash, my emergency documents, and anything we can't replace. Everything else can be bought or shipped once we're there. The less we carry, the faster we move.” Elena looked up from her phone with a reassuring smile. “I've already started a list. Cribs, bottles, diapers, clothes—Bonnie's putting us in touch with a supplier in Auckland who can have everything delivered to the cabin within forty-eight hours. Quietly.” Lexi slipped her phone into her pocket and grinned. “Perfect. That means our only stop is the storage unit for Evie's bike, then we're heading straight to the airstrip. No unnecessary delays.” Damon's jaw tightens. “And we move like ghosts. Klaus has eyes everywhere.” Evie adds, “Leave the bike at the manner I won't be able to ride being pregnant, and then with the baby it's not going to be feasible for a long time” Damon nods, already accepting this new reality. “Smart. We'll have it shipped to the house eventually. Stefan can keep it safe.” Stefan appears in the doorway, car keys in hand. “ I'll arrange transport for the bike. It'll be secure at the boarding house.” Lexi moves efficiently, already heading toward the door with Elena close behind. “Then we're locked in. Let’s head out to the airstrip.“ Damon wraps a protective arm around your waist, his dark eyes scanning the suite one last time—making sure nothing's left behind that could trace Evie. “After you, wife.” “Thank you, husband.” She grins and touches her stomach as pain suddenly racks her body, and for the next 10 minutes she can't move the baby doing another growth spurt. Bonnie rushes to Evie and says, “I was wrong”. Bonnie's hands glow with soft blue light as she places them on her abdomen, her witch senses piercing through the veil of magic surrounding the pregnancy. Bonnie says with her eyes widening, “Oh my God. Evie... there are two heartbeats.” Damon's entire body goes rigid beside you. As he asks, “Twins?, Are you sure?” Bonnie just nods and looks at both of them in wonderment. Elena's hand flies to her mouth. Lexi steps closer, her expression shifting from urgency to shock. Lexi says, “well That changes things a bit”. Bonnie's voice trembles slightly as another wave of pain racks through you. “The growth spurts will be intense. Twice the magical drain. Twice the development speed.” Damon immediately drops to his knees beside you, his protective instinct flaring dangerously. His voice is low and fierce. “We're not leaving this suite until she's stable.” Evie takes a deep breath and looks around at all the worried faces and says, “Oh God, that sucked”. as it starts to dissipate, she wipes sweat from her brow and says, “Okay, let's go. I’m ready now it’s passed, but let’s go before it does it again”. Damon nods and helps her to her feet, his hands steady but his expression fierce with protective concern. “Twins. Jesus, Evie. Two of them.” He glances at Bonnie, then back to her, as he asks worried, “You sure you're good to move? Because we can—“ Stefan appears at the suite door, urgency in his posture interrupting his words. “Car's waiting. Klaus's tracker just pinged near the Nevada border. We need to go. Now.” Lexi is already moving, grabbing the last bag, saying, “Bonnie, you're with us. We need you on that plane in case another growth spurt hits mid-flight.” Damon's arm wraps protectively around her waist, supporting her weight as she moves toward the door. And Evie says, “We're going to have to get used to it; she's not going to New Zealand with us, and I know what to expect now; it most likely will get worse as we get further along, is what I suspect. Am I right, Bonnie?” As they walk out of the hotel, Bonnie follows close behind as you all descend toward the lobby, her expression serious. “Yeah, you're right. The growth spurts will intensify as the pregnancy progresses. By month three, they could be debilitating for hours at a time.” The elevator doors slide open, revealing the sleek hotel lobby. Stefan moves ahead, scanning for threats. Bonnie continues lowering her voice, “You'll need constant magical support. I can teach you grounding techniques, but honestly... you need someone like me. A witch present regularly.” Damon's jaw clenches as he guides you toward the waiting car outside. “Then we figure it out in New Zealand. Lexi knows witches. We'll make calls. We're heading towards a witch safe haven. I’m sure there will be others willing to help us.” The cool Vegas night air hits her as she steps onto the street. “You don't think I can do it without help now I'm scared, Bonnie. How bad is it going to get?” Bonnie stops walking, turning to face you directly. Her dark eyes are serious but compassionate. “You can do it. But not alone. That's not weakness, Evie—that's wisdom.” The car pulls up to the curb. Damon opens the passenger door, his protective instinct radiating off him in waves. His voice is firm. “She won't be alone. I'm there. Every contraction, every growth spurt, every second.” He helps her into the seat, then leans down, meeting her eyes. “You're carrying our babies. I'm not going anywhere.” Bonnie slides into the back seat beside Lexi. “The pain will peak around month five or six. But Evie... your cosmic energy is protecting them. That's rare. That's powerful.” Evie places her hand on her stomach and says, “Yes, but what will happen to me in the process? What if we can't get a witch that agrees to help, being scared of what we're bringing into the world, thinking they won't have a soul or something? Will it kill me” The car accelerates smoothly toward the airstrip. Bonnie leans forward, her voice steady and grounded. “Your babies won't be soulless. They're half you—cosmic energy, light, humanity. Half Damon—vampire, but also capable of love and sacrifice. They'll have souls, Evie. Real ones.” She pauses, choosing her words carefully. “But the physical toll... it'll be intense. But you're stronger than you think. And no witch worth their salt would refuse to help protect two hybrid children.” Damon reaches over, taking Evie’s hand, his thumb stroking her palm. “We find the right witch. We do this right, and you survive it because I'm not losing you or our kids to fear.” She looks up at him and says, “I just wanted to ask all the questions I didn't want to wonder and not ask; then it festers and becomes something worse that controls me” Damon squeezes her hand tighter, understanding exactly what she needs. “That's smart. Ask everything. No filter, no judgment. It’s better than having unanswered questions that make you worry”. Stefan glances back from the driver's seat. “Bonnie's right about the witches too. The supernatural community knows what you are now—a cosmic conductor carrying hybrid children. That's not a curse to them. That's significant.” Lexi shifts in the back, her expression thoughtful. “I've lived through a lot of impossible pregnancies in my time. You asking hard questions? That means you're ready. That means you're going to fight for them.” The car merges onto the highway Atoward the airstrip, Vegas lights fading behind them. Bonnie says, “Ask me anything else before the plane. We have time before takeoff. I’ll answer everything I can”. Evie's expression suddenly turned thoughtful. "Wait..."Everyone looked at her.
