A few hours later, Rose was already resting on one of the cushions, staring at the picture in her necklace locket
it was the picture she took with her mum when she was just five years old.
"Mom, why did you take me with you"
rose said as her tears hit her locket
I was still crying till I heard this deep voice behind me "Who are you"
Ryan's pov
I came back from the office feeling tired and hungry when I saw a girl crying on one of my cushions, she was so beautiful with her sea blue eyes, I just wanted to stay and watch when my mouth betrayed me "Who are you"
"f**k why did I say that"
that was my heart speaking not me I didn't even know why I wanted to watch her
maybe it was because I loved seeing people cry, well that's what I told myself
rose's pov
"Are you Lopez"
I asked
"yes I am" Ryan replied
"well I'm the prize you won at the casino"
I said cleaning my tears in other to look tough
"so you're the lady I won at the casino"
Ryan said looking at her features
"I don't know the deal you had with my father but he had no right to bet on me whatever you want to do, do it with him this has nothing to do with me"
"what am I going to do with a man"
Ryan ask
"I don't care"
Rose said as she made her way to the door
The men outside prevented her from leaving
"it seems like you don't know, you can't leave this house, your father sold you to me so you can only leave when I say so"
Ryan said in a more serious tone
"you gambled with my father is meet him, I'm leaving and nothing can stop me"
rose said still acting stubborn
"if you wish to leave fine your old man will have to bear the consequences, he will have to take a thousand strokes from my men to pay his dept, take her home "
Ryan said and was about to leave
"How would you think if giving an old man a thousand strokes, you know he won't survive"
"I don't care, if you still wish to go then use the door "
"I'm staying, but as soon as I pay the debt I'm leaving "
rose said and immediately regretted those words
"Good"
Ryan replied and left
Rose was still standing there when a middle-aged woman walked up to her
"Hi, I'm Mrs Smith come with me so I can show you your room"
All Rose could do was nod her head and follow her like a helpless dog
Mrs Smith showed her her room
There she met Three other girls, it was a large room with two beds and little furniture. two girls to a bed
despite being maids rose course that they were well taken care of
rose bed partner came to meet her as she was still standing at the door
" Hi, my name is Sandra and you"
"I'm Rose"
"wow nice name, this is Joy and Betty"
Sandra introduced the two ladies
"nice to meet you all"
rose replied reluctantly
"so... where would you be working "
Sandra asked not wanting to end the discussion
"I don't know yet, do you all work here"
"yes we do we're the cleaning team I guess you will be part of our team"
joy said excitedly
"is that arrogant man the only one who lives here "
Rose asked as she began to get comfortable with them
"yes, but don't let anyone hear you say bad about him, especially Mrs. Smith, you'll get in trouble"
"I'm already in trouble"
Rose whispered to herself
"do you know the creepiest thing about this whole mansion, no one has ever entered Mr Lopez's bedroom, some girls in the other team say that there might be a skeleton in his cupboard"
"shut up Betty you'll get us all in trouble "
Joy said in fear
"thank you guys for the enlightenment but I think it's time we all go to bed it's gonna be a long day tomorrow, I guess "
Rose said as she fell on her bed like a log of wood
Rose woke up to a leg on her face, just yesterday she would wake up on her bed alone after having a good night's sleep.
but now she's in a large prison sleeping in the same bed with a stranger. all she could do was remove the leg from her face and take a little walk around the room to clear her head
after taking a few steps she heard a loud whistle that almost ripped her eardrums, and all the other girls stood up immediately
"What going on"
rose asked shouting
"it's time to work the other girls shouted as they quickly put on their uniforms and ran out. Rose just followed them like a Lost pet
In the office, Ryan was having an administrative meeting with all the directors of the different branches of the Lopez group
he was with his childhood friend and best friend and personal assistant Edward Joneses
after that meeting, Ryan had another meeting which was going to be held at a five-star hotel restaurant in an hour
so he called Mrs Smith and asked her to to send him a suit
"Don't worry dear it will be sent to you soon, be expecting it"
Mrs Smith said as she was about to end the call
"I want the new maid to deliver it"
"but she knows nothing about the rules yet"
"I want her to deliver it"
Ryan as he ended the call Smith had no choice other than to hand the suit over to Rose, she packed the suit and gave it to one of the maids to give to Rose.
"I hope everything goes well "Cara"
"yes ma"
give this to Mrs rose"
"ok ma'am"
Cara replied as they quickly took the box from her and went to find rose
Rose was cleaning the dining when Cara brought the box to her
"what's in it"
Rose asked thinking it was a new uniform
"It's Mr Lopez's suit"
"what? why are you giving it to me"
rose asked giving it back to her
"he ordered you to bring it to him in his office and you have to leave now in other it to be late because he hates untidiness"
Cara said and left
"What the hell am I still doing here"
rose said as they ran outside to get a cab
After a while, Rose finally got a cab and was heading for Ryan's office when a car had an accident in front of them
Rose was terrified she had always been afraid of blood she had a trauma for blood.
Then her father usually comes home drunk and gets into a fight with her mum and he beats her until she starts bleeding.
Rose had always experienced it ever since she was a child, so she couldn't bear to see anyone in pain so she rushed out of her cab without thinking twice and ran to a little girl who was a victim with the box still in her hand the girl had a dip cut so she had to tie it, she ripped the suit and tied the girl's leg before taking her to the hospital.
As soon as she got to the hospital she had no other choice than to wait for one of the little girl's relatives before she left. she knew she was already late.
By then Ryan had already gone to the meeting and back in Edward's suit which was two sizes small.
