A Mother's Anger

The servers had already sat platters of food along the vast table. I sat next to Pavarti and across from us Korryn sat next to Omri. Korryn began the discussion without hesitation, "I understand that you are a very strong Goddess. But, in this house and in this land we reign supreme. We will command the same respect as you." Korryn spoke as she began fixing her and Omri's plate. A server was requested to make mine and Parvarti's. My Goddess lifted her head and met eyes with the queen. With a smirk on her lips, she spoke. "I will respect your wishes. Now, you requested my presence to ask questions. Please." She took a bite as she waited for the first question. "What are you doing to my child?" Omri asked through gritted teeth. I eyed him watching the distress in his eyes. "She is safe, she's sleeping currently." Pavarti pointed to her chest, "On the inside."  That wasn't a satisfying answer. "Are you going to try to replace her and take away the rest of her life?" Korryn used an even tone I hadn't heard for quite some time but was very familiar with. Her dark eyes studied the creature possessing her daughter. I can imagine the fear. Actually, although I adore my Goddess, I hoped her answer would be no. But, I know her too well and for too long. "She is finally of age. She will no longer be the owner of this body. It's finally strong enough to withstand my power. We had a rough start, but thanks to everyone's never-ending attempts to find this sweet girl, she's perfect." As I watched Rayven's lips move saying words that were not her own, I felt a pain in my chest. I heard glass shatter, I turned my head to see Korryn's left hand bleeding. Her eyes, once shiny black orbs were a scarlet red. Omri stood and took a step away from his wife. "Silas, I would advise you to remove yourself from the table if you'd like to live another day boy."
