Chapter 10

1163 Words
SELINA’S POV There was only one week left before the Mooncrest Trial, and all the students were training harder than ever. Everyone dreamed of making it into the top ten, but I only wanted one thing, to survive my fight. I had to make it home to my parents and continue living. If Ellaine made it into Lunaris, then good for her. It would be better if all of them left this school and transferred to Lunaris, so I could finally have a peaceful life. I had just arrived at school when someone suddenly covered my face and dragged me away. “Mmm,” I struggled, but I felt a small cut on my arm, making my body grow weaker. Wolfsbane. I was sure they used it again to weaken me because I could feel its burning effect spreading through my system. If they injected too much wolfsbane, it would definitely kill me. f**k. They threw me into a vehicle, and I had no idea where they were taking me. I couldn't see who they were because my entire head was covered. “What do you want from me?” I asked. “To a place where no one will ever see you again,” one of them answered. I recognized that voice. He was one of Adrian’s friends. I let out a dry laugh. Adrian was getting revenge because of what I did to him on my birthday. Couldn’t he accept that I rejected him in front of everyone? Did he really think I wasn't capable of doing that? What did he think? That I wanted to become his Luna? I didn't care about those high-ranking positions. If there was one thing I wished for, it was nothing more than a quiet and peaceful life. After several hours, the vehicle finally stopped, they forcefully dragged me out while the cover was still over my head. I fell to the ground with my hands tied behind my back. I couldn't see anything, I didn't know where I was. Was this really where my life would end? All I ever wanted was something simple, but I guess that wasn't what the Moon Goddess wanted for me. She let my parents abandon me, she let my classmates bully and hurt me, and now, she was about to take my life. I could only laugh bitterly at the thought. It seemed like all I could do was accept my fate. I closed my eyes when someone suddenly removed the cover from my head. I slowly opened them and saw Adrian together with his friends. His eyes were burning with rage as he stared at me. “You really had the nerve to humiliate me, to reject me in front of everyone. Did you honestly think I would let you live after what you did?!” He slapped me hard across the face. The force of it made me dizzy. I clenched my teeth. I wanted to fight. If I was going to die at their hands, then I would rather fight back, at least I could make them pay before they killed me. “Really, Adrian? One girl against six men?” I mocked him before laughing. His jaw tightened because of what I said. “Is hurting a girl all you can do? What chance do I have against the six of you when my hands were tied? Aren’t you ashamed?” I added. He laughed. “Untie her. Looks like she wants to fight.” He ordered. Jake untied my wrists. He was the future Beta of the Shadowfang Pack. Once the ropes were removed, I rubbed the marks around my wrists. Then I glanced around because the place looked familiar. If I wasn't mistaken, it was close to my training ground. I smirked at all of them. I knew I couldn't defeat them, but it was better to die fighting than die without doing anything. If death was waiting for me, then I would accept it. “Lee, she's all yours.” Adrian ordered before leaning against a huge tree. I stepped back and took my stance, preparing myself in case he attacked. I could hear all of them laughing. “Does she seriously think she can take all of us? She really thinks highly of herself. She doesn't even train, and she wants to fight?” Adrian's friends mocked me, but I never took my eyes off Lee because he would be the first one to attack. He threw a fast kick at me, which I blocked with one arm. Every move he made was quick. He tried to grab my arm, but I reacted first. I pulled him toward me and drove my knee into his stomach before stepping back. “Damn you, b***h!” he shouted angrily. I might not have a wolf, but my body was strong and fast. “Lee, don't tell me you're actually losing to a girl?” one of his friends mocked him. “That was your first and last chance. Damn you.” he snarled. I didn't answer him. He kicked again, but I caught his leg and yanked it hard, forcing him to hop several times. He spun around, trying to strike me with his other leg, but I leaped high into the air and met his kick midair. He crashed to the ground and slid several meters across the dirt. “f*****g hell.” Lee cursed furiously. He used his wolf's speed, throwing punch after punch, but I quickly blocked every single one with my arms. He dashed behind me and locked his arms around my neck, but our fight didn't end there. I jumped and landed behind him. I struck the back of his neck with one hard blow, making him collapse and lose his strength. From the corner of my eye, I saw all of his friends suddenly stand up. “Lee! What the hell are you doing? She's just a girl!” Jake shouted. I walked over to Lee and twisted his neck just enough to knock him unconscious. He finally dropped to the ground. I looked at Adrian, his eyes were blazing with fury as he glared at me. “You, kill that woman.” Adrian ordered another one of his friends. He immediately shifted into his wolf. The moment he lunged at me, I quickly dodged. His claws carved deep marks into the ground as he slid several meters across the dirt. He was furious, completely ready to tear my body apart. Was he really going to use his wolf for this entire fight? He couldn't shift back into his human form because he would be completely naked. Even if I fought with everything I had, I still couldn't beat all six of them. I immediately ran deeper into the forest. “Go after her, and make sure that woman doesn't leave here alive!” Adrian shouted. I just want to live, Moon Goddess. Please protect me.
