Chapter 312019—early January
The first weekend of January was upon them, and Carlton and Eric were once again expecting guests. It was Friday evening, and Lydia Brannon and her husband were due to arrive at any moment.
“Is everything ready in the guest room?” Carlton said.
“You know it is,” Eric said.
“And we have things already set up in the little folly?”
“I took a couple of chairs and a recliner out there yesterday afternoon. I also tested the wall outlets to make sure they’ll work when Lydia plugs in her recorder. Remember, she uses a fancy device that records on a CD, and it needs electricity.”
Carlton’s phone rang, and he looked at the display. “It’s them.”
“I’ll open the gates for them,” Eric said.
