They resumed their regular routine first thing Monday morning. Eric had a full day of work lined up for two crews, and Carlton had duties around the property. But before Carlton started on the property projects, he made a trip to the local courthouse, where it didn’t take long for him to find probate files for both Winfield Raleigh and his son, Wade. He had the relevant contents of all the probate files copied and took them back to the house.
Carlton was in the farm office when Eric stopped by at noon.
“I wasn’t expecting you for lunch,” Carlton said.
