chapter 13

I surprisingly don't wake up alone; I turn around and find Ian next to me. Is he still mad at me? Does this mean he forgave me? I try not to wake him up and head to the shower. When I return he's not on the bed anymore. Gosh he's so confusing! I get dressed and everything and go down stairs and see Ian's chef in the kitchen making breakfast but Ian is still nowhere to be seen. 

"Good morning" I say with a smile. 

 "Good morning sweetie, sleep well?" She says back while still cooking. 

 "Yes I did...Do you know where Ian is?"

"He went to work sweetie." She says casually Of course he did She hands me my food, I thank her and start eating.

 I check my social media's like I normally do in the morning and when I finish my food I get my things and head to school, late like always but whatever. My classes go by pretty fast, I guess because today I actually decide to do something. When it's lunch break I sit down at one of the tables outside and eat the lunch that was made for me. While I'm eating Xavier comes over and gives me a kiss on the cheek. 

 "Hey" I say and take a bite of my bread. 

 He sits across from me and I can feel the eyes of the other girls on us. Like I said, Xavier is a really attractive teacher so I would understand why girls would stair and give me a b***h face each time they see me with him. I can't help it that he's a good friend of the guy I'm living with, which happens to be my boyfriend. Which makes me think, does he know about me and Ian? I only told Tyler; did he tell anyone about us? Or does he not want to tell anyone about us because he doesn't think anything can happen between us? I try to stop over thinking and look up at Xavier. He's on his phone, he looks up and smiles. 

 "So how was your day?" He asks with the same smile. 

 "It was ok." I don't wanna give him the entire story about me and Ian. I take a sip of my iced tea but almost choke when he says 

 "and everything's good between you and Ian?" He laughs and my reaction and I look at him. So he does know! 

"H-how'd you know?" I say surprisingly. 

 "Well he told me." He says normally. 

 "Really?" I say still surprised. He chuckles and looks at me 

 "yes rose, he really likes you." I blush at his words. 

 "But yeah I don't think he does anymore, we fought yesterday and he's still mad at me."  

"What happened?" He asks actually concerned.

 "Well I got mad because he keeps leaving for work early and comes home really late."

 "But he can't help it rose, he is the CEO of the company, he has to make a living. Besides I don't think he likes not seeing you the entire day either, but he can't do anything about it. You have to understand it's only for a little while because during these times it's very hectic and there are deadlines and everything. Give him some time and just be understanding because I know he doesn't like it either, just be there for him. I know he would make it up to you."

 "Yeah, you're right." I say and look down, I feel stupid now for overreacting, besides I should know about his busy schedule cause my dad has the same job.

 "What should I do now?"

 "Well you can surprise him" he says with a smirk on his face and I know exactly what he's thinking.

 "Xavier." My face blushes and he laughs. 

"We're not there yet"

 "There's always a first miss Hart." He gives me a kiss on the cheek and heads back inside. 

 I look around for a while. This school has all types of people; I honestly don't know where I belong. I don't really interact with a lot of students, just mostly teachers and the other students I have a project with. it's pretty clear that I'm not really social at school, I guess because I don't like people knowing what's going on in my life and the less they know the less they can talk about me. I realized that when me and Dylan were together everyone knew everything about us and it got even worse when we broke up. Everyone was asking questions but I'm glad that Dylan felt the same way I did and didn't tell anyone what actually happened. Now, a few weeks after our breakup, the rumors have stopped and I don't hear them whispering while I walk past them. Right when I was about to head inside to my next class, this girl walks up to me. I think her name is Hanna or something. I guess you can call her the popular girl at school, lots of people know her.

"You must love the attention, don't you?" She says looking at me up and down; I know exactly what she is talking about Xavier. 

 "You think that flirting with him will get you better grades?" She scoffs. I give her the same expression that she gives me and I look her straight in the eyes 

 "I guess it takes one to know one" I give her an exaggerated fake smile and walk inside.

 She doesn't even know me and has the nerve to say that, I don't let it get to me and actually laugh at the thought that she's so bored that she wants to start making rumors of my boring life. I get to my next class and the class after that and the next after that until it was time to go home. It's quiet in the house, I put my things in my room; change into one of Ian's plain cotton white shirt because they are extremely comfortable. I get my iPad and go downstairs into the kitchen, tie my hair up and search on Pinterest what to do for Ian. I find some good ideas to do. I check the kitchen cabinets to see if he has all the ingredients that I need for me to make the meal and surprisingly it does have exactly everything I need. Well it could be expected if you have your own personal chef you got to have everything. I take everything I need and place it on the kitchen counter. Next I need decoration. I wanna put some candles and those helium balloons. There is a party store close by, I just need someone to drive me there. Tyler is busy, so I call Xavier. 

 "Hey, you busy?" I ask when he picks up

 "Not really, why?" 

 "Well I need a ride, can you pick me up?"

"Yeah sure, I'll be there in 10 minutes." He says and hangs up. I go to my room and change into a normal v-neck t-shirt and a pair of shorts. I grabbed the first bag I find and put my phone, wallet and keys in it. When Xavier arrives I get in and show him the directions that he has to take to get to the store.

 "So why do you need to go to a party store?" He asks when I finish explaining where he has to go.

"Well, I wanted to surprise Ian and show him that I'm sorry for acting like I did." I explain to him. 

"I already told you how you can say sorry but I think we are going to the wrong store for that." He grins and looks at me. I roll my eyes at him and say,

 "Well I already told you that we aren't there yet, besides my way is more special."

 "If you say so." We arrive at the store and I get everything I need: 20 candles and a helium filled balloon which says I'm sorry. I pay for everything and Xavier drops me back home.

 "Thanks for the ride, I owe you one." I give him a hug and get out of the car.

 "Anytime, let me know how it turns out." He smiles and drives away. 

I place the balloon and the bag of candles on the table and start making the dinner that I had planned: Cheesy- chicken broccoli with rice. I do exactly as the recipe says and it turns out pretty good and tasty. I set up the candles in the living room but don't set them on and place the balloon right in the middle of all the candles. I call Ian's office and ask how late he would be done for me to have an idea how long I still have till he gets home. They said that he's in a meeting and it probably ends in about an hour so that means that he will probably be home around 10 and it's now 8:00 so I have enough time to take a shower and sleep for like an hour so I won't be sleepy when he gets home and I'll be rested. I put the food in the fridge and right before he gets home I'll heat it up. The sound of my alarm wakes me at exactly 9:30pm. I set an alarm for me to be awake right before Ian's home. I get out of bed and put on something cute. I heat up the dinner and set the candles on. Right when I finish setting the last candle on I hear the front door opening and he walks in.

 "Before you say anything I just want to say that I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. It's not your fault that you have to work late and I understand that you have to make a living. I'm sorry." He walks up to me, places his hand on my cheek and kisses me softly.

 "I'm sorry too babe, I'm sorry I yelled at you. I really feel bad about that."

 "It's okay; I just hate not seeing you for so long." I say and place my head on his chest.

"I know princess." He kisses my forehead and hugs me. I missed being in his arms, we stay like that for a while. 

 "You hungry?" I ask and look up to him. 

 "Very." I take his hand and lead him to the kitchen, where the table has been set and our dinner has been placed. 

 "I cooked." I say with a smile. 

 "It smells amazing." He says and gives me a kiss. 

 "I think I should have you as my personal chef." He smiles and takes another bite of his food. 

"You like it?" I ask.

 "Love it." He takes my hand and kisses the palm of my hand. 

 "The surprise was very sweet of you, it means a lot." I can't help but blush at his words.

 I take another bite of my food and just admire how handsome Ian is, not just his looks but his personality. A few months ago I would've never thought that I would say this but getting to know him has just changed my entire opinion of him, he is nothing what I thought he'd actually would be, he's actually just a hundred times better than what I thought of him. 

 "So I heard you told Xavier about us." I say and he looks concerned as if he didn't want me to know. 

 "It's okay baby, I actually thought that it was amazing that you tell your friends about me."

"Well you are an amazing girl Rose Hart." He says with a grin on his face. 

The rest of the night goes by amazing. We just sat in the backyard at the pool with a blanket and just talked and laughed until almost 4 in the morning. We got in bed and fell asleep. It was like we had never fought in the first place.
