The Gambling Killer

Chilly morning.Trees swinging right to left as the cold wind is blowing. The sound of the wind and leaves hitting the window right above my head has officially woken me up. I decided it's time to get out of bed and move on with the day. It was 6 a.m.I sat up and saw my wife still sleeping. Her dark hair covering half of her face. Her beautiful and soft face was buried in the pillow. I smile to myself and went to the bathroom. After I have done my morning routine, I've decided to make breakfast for both of us.  Right before I started making the food, I got a call to come to the park near the countryside as soon as possible. I quickly dressed up in my work uniform and made myself black coffee. I've left a note to my wife on the table: "Sorry for not having breakfast with you, work is calling".I got into my car and went there as fast as I could. When I pulled into the driveway, I saw my co-workers car. The park was still covered in a fog. You could barely see people standing in the distance. As I made my way there, a woman jumped in front of me. - Good morning Steve! – She said. - Morning Verona. What is happening here? - I can't help you much but all I know is that a woman's body was found in the river. - Who found the body? - The fisherman over there. – She pointed at the man near a tree next to a policeman, still shaking. - Let's go investigate the body. When we got near the police officers, I asked one of them to explain the situation more. He took us near the river and started talking. - Her name was Ashley Nelson and she was 30 years old. The body was found near the rock over there. – He pointed at a big rock under the bridge. – The fisherman found her this morning at around 6:30. - Thank you, could we talk with the fisherman? – I asked. - It depends on him. We walked to the man who was near a tree. He was pale and still shaking. - Hello, sir. Could we ask you a few questions? – Verona asked. There was a short pause. - Ye-yes,su-sure. – The man finally answered, his voice being still shaky. - Okay, good. – I continued. – I'm detective Steve Smith and this is my friend Verona Blaine. What's your name sir? - My name is James Miller. – He said with a calmer voice. - Nice to meet you, James. – I said it with a soft smile. – Could you tell us how did you find the dead body?
