CHAPTER ONE

"Michelle"

a voice called out loudly from the room and a young girl of fifteen ran into the room, she was blonde with snow white skin, slender with rosebud Pink lips, she was very beautiful.

"mum, granny you called "she asked noticing the serious looks on their faces.

"dear your mother wants to tell you something really important" her granny said and her mother miss Laura cleared her throat

"Michelle what I wanted to tell you was that I.......I...., what I... mean...was..."she stammered nervously

"well tell her already don't keep the child waiting"the old lady scolded

miss Laura took a deep breath and spoke

" I... I've decided to get married"she said nervously, Michelle was surprised and angry first because her mum hadn't gotten over her runaway dad and second was that she didn't want a dad

"why mum, I never complained about not having a dad , and were doing just fine why on Earth would you want to get married"she asked angrily

"listen honey...try to understand...."

Laura pleaded but Michelle cut in

"there is nothing to explain mum, you risk your heart to be broken the second time and even if you deny it I know you've not gotten over the jerk who abandoned us...I don't want a father, never had one never will."

with that word Michelle stormed out of the room with tears rolling down her face.

"I knew it...I knew she'd never consent to it"Laura sobbed

"Michelle is a good kid, she'll understand"her mother consoled

"but don't you think she's right mum after all Angelo's done to us I still can't forget him,any time i look at Michelle I see him in her" Laura confessed

"does it mean you're not ready to get married"her mother asked in surprise

"no mum, I'm not getting any younger, I'll have to get married to Eugene, even if I don't love him,but I believe that someday I'll learn to love him" Laura replied

"but Laura you don't have to do this if you're not ready child" her mother advised

"mum it's my decision to make"

she replied

"what had you earlier decisions landed us if not pain sorrow and heartbreak,you have to think it through"her mother advised further

"I know I might not have made the right decisions when I was younger but I can't just let myself waste because of a mistake I made, I'm sorry you and Michelle had to suffer for it"

"she has great hatred for Angelo and I wonder if she'll ever trust anyone" her mother said

"I remember how she'd cry home from school because someone had called her Angelo's bastard" Laura recalled sadly

"that reminds me, Suzy's coming to Texas next week " her mother said rising from the sofa

"really, she last visited fifteen years ago, Michelle will finally get to meet her only aunt, Suzy" Laura said as a bright smile crept on her face

"Laura, you have to talk to Michelle okay..... make her understand, the marriage is for your happiness and hers too" her mother said leaving the room, Laura sighed tiredly

"I'll try".
