Peter received an urgent request from Phyllis to cover an appointment. She had an emergency to deal with so she called upon the founding member of the clinic. He’d be meeting with the mother of the child he would be adopting.
He was calm when he went into the examining room. “Phyllis had an emergency delivery and sends her apology for missing this time with you. I’m Dr. Wilson-Bennett and if you’re comfortable with the substitution, I’ll be looking after your appointment today.”
