When it was finally time to leave for home and the kids decided they were travelling with their fathers. Maria couldn’t stop talking about the huge bear they saw and how Cody saved her. The four had seen a large grizzly while hiking. It was well off in the distance and upwind from them. Cody took Maria’s hand and whispered that he’d protect her. He edged them both behind Russell and Peter. Cody was now her brother and her hero.
It would have been a typical drive home except for the mountain goats that decided to have a convention on the road. That delayed the trip but delighted the kids. Maria decided she wanted a goat since Cody had Moe and Russell had Joey. She did the lip thing.
