Chapter 24
The flight from Calgary to Vancouver was just over an hour. It took that long to check in, get their boarding passes, and corral the kids to the loading area for their flight. There were so many distractions—dinosaur replicas, exhibits, and lots of craft stores.
Cody got a window seat with Peter beside him. Across the aisle, Maria got the window seat with her father, Russell. An elderly couple sat in the aisle seats across from each other.
The plane began to accelerate down the runway while the kids were fascinated and intimidated at the same time. Once airborne, they had a running commentary about the clouds and how small the ground suddenly became. The elderly gentleman beside Peter caught Cody’s eye and asked him if he liked the flight.
