Too much, too fast. That’s what Peter sensed Russell was feeling, and he seemed to think fate was toying with them. Then again, he had to admit that in the space of almost no time at all, they became partners, husbands, and finally fathers. Real life didn’t move that fast, or so he thought. Upon reflection, Peter knew that they enjoyed advantages which most people didn’t, with him being a doctor and his husband a lawyer. Despite the illusion of objectivity, the system definitely favoured well-placed individuals. He’d never argue the fact that everything fell in place so readily. He loved his husband with all his heart and those kids had a way of crawling into his soul and feeling right at home. His family loved them as did Russell’s.
