Peter had the foresight to realize that both children might need a session with Mary after the stress of the birthday party. He was impressed when the psychologist said she’d made an opening, not because the clients were related to her boss, but rather because she had a soft spot for them. Mary loved every opportunity to spend time guiding their healing. He smiled as he arranged time from school for them to meet with their counselor. He decided he’d bring them to their appointment in the morning. Bernice would come to pick them up so Peter could get on with his schedule at the clinic.
Once morning arrived and all parties—human, canine, feline, and piscine, had breakfast, Russell kissed everyone who was human and left for his office.
