"Ohh... see who is here," I said surprised to see Grace at the door. Although Patrick informed us she would be joining us for breakfast this morning, I wasn't expecting her to be so punctual.
"Good morning Mrs. Barnes, thanks for inviting me over" She greeted while still standing at the door.
"Ohh please, come in," I said as I opened the door wider.
"And please, call me Anna" I added as I closed the door after her.
"Over here," I said as I led her into the living room.
"Thanks, Mrs. Barnes... Uhm... An Anna" she said with obvious difficulty.
I prefer it when I'm addressed by my first name, especially when I'm looking to build a relationship which is the goal with Grace. I believe when people drop the formality it helps them relate more like friends.
