It’s the morning of my 18th birthday. That means I get to meet my wolf! Finally… I cannot wait to meet her and get to know this other half of myself. I won’t be alone anymore. My parents died of a rogue attack when I was just a year old. The Luna of The Highclaw Walkers pack found me just outside their territory. No one knew who my parents were or who I was. “Amethyst, time for school” the Omega assigned to watch over me called bringing me back to the present. Luna Esyn and Alpha Radulf took me in and have been watching over me since that day. I’m the same age as their son future Alpha Jatix. I know what today will bring just like any other day and every birthday. I think as I walk down the stairs to the pack dining hall for breakfast. No one is going to remember me. That was fine for me, I didn’t like attention anyways. Looking down at the bruising on my arms. Attention meant beatings. Jatix and his friends always picked on me. The orphan girl his family took pity on. I stopped to look in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs. Fixing my almost white blonde hair into a neat bun. I tried staring into my blue eyes to see if I felt different, could I sense my wolf yet? Most people got theirs first thing in the morning. Mine hasn’t shown up, but maybe she will after school. Looking down on my plain black tee, jeans, and dirty blue tennis shoes I sighed. I barely got clothes and with all the chores inside the pack house I couldn’t get a job to buy anything. I was small, all of 5’2” and the jeans were long I was always having to roll them up. Taking one last look, plastering a fake smile on my face I was as ready as I could be to start the day. I turn to head into the dining hall and run right into my nightmare. 5’6” gorgeous olive skin striking curly brown hair that stopped just at her waist, Millie, Jatix’s girlfriend and my tormentor. Millie and Jatix have been dating off and on since they were in diapers practically. Millie’s family was close to Luna Esyn so Millie was always around. She’s two months older than Jatix and I, and of course her wolf was just as stunning as she was. Tonight Jatix and I would shift for the first time in front of the pack. Since Jatix is future Alpha he wanted everyone there to witness his wolf. “Look it’s the tiny less than an omega girl. Wanting another round orphan?” Millie sneered gaining laughs from her two cronies on either side of her, Lorna and Kira. “N..no Miss Millie. I..I’m sorry I wasn’t looking” immediately looking down trying not to anger her more. The beatings hurt and without my wolf before it was slow healing. I saw her hand coming up, I knew it was coming and I flinched away. But the hit never happened. I peaked my eyes open and saw her looking past me. “Jatix.. “ Millie practically sang. Looking over and seeing Jatix. He was tall almost 6 feet and handsome. No one could deny that. His sandy brown hair, hazel eyes. He was fit and wore shirts a size smaller than he should just to show off those muscles. His gaze landing on Millie and his hazel eyes grew dark. “MATE!” Was he growled, grabbing Millie’s hand pulling her to him. Great not only did he get his wolf he found his mate right away. Millie’s eyes lit up, and applause broke out in the dining hall. The Future Alpha had his Luna. ‘Moon Goddess, why can’t you spare me and let one thing go right in my life?’ I thought, internally sighing. It wasn’t normal for anyone to have hair my color, or eyes as bright blue as mine. I was already an outcast. Now my wolf hasn’t shown up, I’m the orphan girl who omegas boss around. Omegas we’re the lowest in most packs but not ours, I was the lowest. Our Omegas loved bossing me around. Making me do their work and chores. My life was about to get worse I just knew it.
