(Back to Lexi)
I'm not sure what's going on with Andre. This morning's training was so intense. I thought I was coming here to teach the hybrids how to use their abilities in self defense. Those that want to be warriors are the only ones that need to learn how to be fighters. For some reason, he keeps saying I need to train them all like they are going to be my army or something. I don't need an army. I just need to prepare them for the next full moon shift.
Speaking of the full moon shifts. I am now in our shared office as Andre is on the phone going over plans for the pack security. This man is definitely a planner. He decided it needed to be enhanced after hearing my call from the council. He has now gone over the details five times and probably to the same person.
I called in this morning to give my report on our progress and found out the problem is bigger than what we expected. The numbers of those abducted are large enough to for a small army. Black Magic is definitely involved and they believe the poison is some type of blend supplied by hunters. I'm looking at the findings on my computer now. I just wish I was more versed in this type of magic and think I want to look into the poison being used. That potion I made when visiting Keenan's pack seemed to have worked well and Dad has been working on different antidotes as well with the local covens.
It also seems the witch covens have not been impacted by the attacks as much as the wolves. I'm making a note to check on the reports from the vampires, faes, and other shifter communities. I wonder what the purpose of taking the wolves is. I hope EJ is safe from whatever they are doing and he's not turned into one of those creatures.
"I think I'm going to have to get you your own office soon. I'm having a hard time concentrating with you looking so cute." Andre says, hanging up the phone.
"Cute? I have on your shirt with some shorts. You can't see anything. It's far from the lingerie your picked out for me the other night or even what other lunas lounge in." I replied, holding out the oversized shirt.
"Thats just it. I would not be complaining if you walked around naked, but now I keep remembering how you ended up in my shirt and those tig-ole-bitties that are under my shirt." He hungrily licks his lips, walking over to where I'm sitting on the chaise.
"Down boy. You've already ripped one shirt to shreds. You don't need to do that to another one. I'm almost done with these reports and then I will be all yours. All I ask for is dinner. I'm hungry." I said, going back to work.
"We can get dinner. What have you so engulfed in those reports?" He asked.
"Well, I want to request reports from other supernatural communities. This report just made me think about myself. I am part witch and the reports say dark magic is involved with the recent attacks. Although my grandmother was a powerful dark witch, I don't know much about that dark magic. I just wish I knew what to look for and how to counter it. And it's not like you can just ask a dark witch about her trade. They always want a soul or something for payment. ." I replied.
"What if I can get you some information?" He asked.
"How would you do that? What kind of payment would that include?" I asked skeptically.
" Let's just say, I know someone. It may not be easy but I might be able to get some information. The only payment I ask for, is for you to keep my heir safe. Raise him to be strong. Teach him how to make this world a better place. And don't allow him to cower to anyone." He said in a very serious tone.
"Our heir? Do you know something I don't know? We haven't even had our marking ceremony yet and we have a while after that before I go into heat. When we get to that point, I'm sure we will be able to work together to make sure they are strong, healthy, and resilient. Now should we plan our marking ceremony for this full moon or summer solstice? This full moon will only give us a week to plan, but the summer solstice is next month."
He goes to the drawer of his desk and pulls out a bowl and a knife. "Sweetheart, I'm defiantly going to put a pup in you soon enough. You just never know what may happen. You seriously need you to make a blood promise you will raise him to be great, with or without me. I don't want to scare you, but you know, the pack will always come first. I have to make tough decisions. Some that may cost me this here, if needed it may even cost my life." He's back to being serious again.
I'm not sure what is going on, but this is a promise I don't see myself wanting to back out of. We're talking about my child as well. "I sure hope nothing will happen to you, and I don't know why you're suddenly so serious. The pack seems to like me so far, right?...right?" he didn't reply. "Well, I do promise to take the best care of our pups to my ability, with or without you." I said.
"Good" he says, cutting his hand, then mine and he combines the two. "The promise has been made." He said and I felt a surge bolt through me. He must have noticed my uneasiness with things."Why don't we aim for the summer solstice so we can have time to plan it properly and my father should be ready to appoint me Alpha. This full moon we will be so busy preparing for the newly shifting pups."
"Okay" I said, still not quite understanding what was going on.
"So we don't have much to do here until then. Why don't we go visit your parents in a day or so? The flight is less than an hour. We can go and you can denounce your pack, then come back here for the shifts and we can bind you to this pack until you are appointed Luna at our mating ceremony." he says, now lifting me to be sitting on his lap. " I just linked Ruth, one of the pack omegas when you said you were hungry. I asked her earlier to make us dinner. She just replied saying she would be here shortly. She said she made brown stew chicken with rice and peas, sweet plantain, akee saltfish and fried bammies."
"Sounds delicious." I said, looking at him to read him. He's suppressing his emotions so I can't tell what he's feelings. Twisting one of his locks in my fingers, I leaned in to give him a gentle kiss.
Plans were set for the training of the newly shifting wolves as well as a protection plan. The only thing left to do was wait. Since we had another week before the full moon, Andre decided to surprise me with a trip to go see my parents.
I've always thought it was best to wait to be marked by your mate before withdrawing from your pack but he kept pressing for me to withdraw first, so I could be sworn into his pack before getting marked. He said it would unite me with the pack members so they would be more willing to accept me as their luna.
The flight was a short hour long. My parents were there to pick us up from the airport. I was so excited to see them since it's been so long. Alpha Donnie was more than willing to allow us to stay in one of the guest suites, but Andre declined because he noticed my excitement about being around my family. That meant at night we would be crammed into my full-sized bed, but he really seemed to enjoy spending time with my friends and family as well.
The few days we were there, Andre had succeeded in winning everyone's hearts. He and my dad had a good talk and, although my parents protested, Andre scheduled the home remodel that my mother always wanted. He somehow managed to do some work also while assisting in the search for my brother and the others. We spent some time with Janet and her mate, who couldn't help but rave about how nice of a guy he was. Everything seemed picture perfect.
I had no doubt I had found my happily ever after and Alpha Donnie happily allowed me to withdraw from the pack. The next day, we flew back home. I thought I would be immediately inducted to my new pack as soon as I landed, but found out that Alpha Ken was out on business and I had to wait a few days more when he would be back for the full moon ceremony.
I had tea with Luna Bianca instead that night. We discussed all the expected things, such as when I would give her a grandpup, my interests in the pack, how excited she was to finally be my mother-in-law and how she was finally able to retire. She planned on traveling. I stayed with her for two hours before I decided to return home.
That night I was unexpectedly woken up by my heat. It's way sooner than when it should come. I wrote that off to the possibility it could be from my bloodline, being mated to an Alpha, and sleeping next to him for the last two weeks. We've mated but our bodies may be trying to force the marking. I was taught what to expect but that night I felt like my insides were on fire. The pain was so intense. The only comfort I had was with Andre being there to take care of my every need. My body craved him and he was happily there to satisfy me for the next few days.
Coming out of my heat, I was exhausted and hungry but had little time to rest and recover. The full Yoon was that evening. We needed to prepare. I needed to talk to Alpha Ken to make sure I was accepted into this pack.
While Andre went over pack security and talking to his father, I hosted a class with the newly shifting wolves. There were 14 in total and we had them all choose a buddy to shift and run with. This year, instead of letting them run at leisure, there was going to be a run led by Andre and myself. Warriors were to surround the area and sensors have been installed around the pack borders.
The class brought back memories of the information I went over with my brother and the group with him. I made sure to include all of the things I didn't get to tell them, as well as inform them of the importance of staying with their buddies.
The night came and I was dressed in a long black robe and Andre had on a similar one.The newly shifting wolves were dressed in red robes. Alpha Ken stood on a stage to deliver a speech welcoming the new wolves into the pack. He went over the security protocol that was going to be introduced for the entire pack. No one was to go into the woods alone. He even gave a history of the pack. He introduced me as a representative of the Supernatural Council, a graduate of the Hybrid Academy and an awesome warrior. He didn't mention that I am his son's mate and the pack's future Luna.
I gave a puzzling look to Andre and he whispered to just let it go for now. At the end of the speech, he commanded the young wolves to shift and the pack welcomed 14 new wolves.
Andre shifted into his beautiful ginormous black wolf, Onyx. Sierra was happy to come greet her handsome mate.
"Hey bestie.Remember he's going to lead the way and we are to just keep up by his side."
"You're saying keep up like it's going to be a struggle. I'm not allowing that handsome beast out of my sight." Sierra says, walking over to her mate. Onyx rubs his body on her side and licks the top of her head.
"Hello my beautiful mate. We finally get some time together." He says in the link, startling us.
"How are you able to talk to us without marking us?" Sierra asks.
"I manifest a lot of Lycan traits. This is one of them. Are you ready for a romantic run?" He asked.
"Romantic? We have a whole school following us. What's romantic about that?"
"We'll run with them. Kill anything that might attack us. Get them back here safely and then spend some you and me time. I have a surprise for you."
"Well, when you put it like that, let's hurry up and get this over with so I can see my surprise. It had better be as good as the one Andre got Lexi." My feisty wolf said.
"Okay, along the path over here." He directed and I followed him.
He leads the way to a very beautiful path. One that looks like it has been well hiked around the pack grounds. We stop at a river and the young wolves splash in the water. Sierra walked around and I counted all of them to make sure they were all still there. Once I'd counted them all, Sierra relaxed with my mate as he stood guard.
There's no movement and I don't detect anything besides normal animals running around. For some reason, I'm more tired than normal. Andre took my yawn as a cue to rile the pups to continue the trail around. We continue along the path which leads to the back of the Packhouse where a party is going on. They are ushered to changing rooms and Onyx escorts Sierra to an area in the woods away from the party.
There are candles lit with a blanket with snacks and a beautiful spring.
" Do you like it?" Onyx asks.
"It's beautiful but it's not better than Lexi's car", Sierra pipes.
"No, but I got you something almost as expensive. Look in the box there." he says, gesturing towards a box I didn't notice at first. With her paws she opened the box. Inside the box is a long black diamond encrusted rose gold chain.. Onyx lifts it out in his mouth and slips it over her head. "I'm not sure about the significance of the chain with the empty vial but this one looks beautiful on you. I also had it enchanted by one of our witches to help hide your scent when... I mean if you need to."
"That's sweet of you. My mom gave me this one. It looks like it hangs a little longer than this one. Is it going to be big for Lexi? Can I see my reflection in the spring there?" Sierra says, walking over to the spring to look at it.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"It's beautiful."
"Just like you." He said, walking over and rubbing his snout with her. He gently rubs and licks her slowly, easing so he is now standing over her. I was still really tired, so at that point I slipped back to rest and allowed Sierra some privacy with her mate.
