Luke Oliver Thompson didn't explain, "Do you think what happened that night can just be forgotten?"
Lily Sophia Turner's mind raced, "Mr. Thompson, what exactly do you want?"
"I need a girlfriend."
"Next month, my mother and the rest of my family are coming back from overseas."
Lily finally understood, "You want me to pretend to be your girlfriend?"
Luke didn't reply, but a faint smile appeared on his lips.
Lily's face grew paler as she stared at him.
The office curtains weren't fully open, and a few beams of light streamed in. Against the light, she couldn't see his features clearly, but his eyes, calm yet dazzling, shone like a lighthouse in the city at night.
"No, I can't. That night was an accident, let's just forget it..." She averted her gaze, resisting the temptation he offered.
Being his girlfriend was something she desperately wanted, but she couldn't bring herself to agree.

As she left his office, her legs felt weak, and she leaned against the wall to keep from collapsing.

Esther hugged her excitedly and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, "Daniel is so handsome. Did you get to interact with him on set?"
"He treated us to cold drinks. He's really nice."
Lily didn't mention how close he had gotten with the leading actress over the past month.
"Being a celebrity assistant has its perks. You get to meet your favorite stars."
Lily smiled.
"Oh, by the way, Lily, Elvira is getting married at the beginning of July. She sent us all invitations."
