    Marena called me hysterical, I couldn’t understand her at first but when she said that her mother and Liam had been killed, I knew that we shouldn’t have waited to tell them on their 16th birthday what their family history is.  I instantly called the packhouse and Colton answered, I asked him to send Jaxon to collect Marena and take her to the packhouse.  I also told him to mind link James and let him know what was happening as he was my Beta.  I could hear Colton questioning why I didn’t ask him to get Marena, but he didn’t verbally say it.  Colton mind linked me when Jaxon arrived at the packhouse.  I called Colton letting him know I would be there in 30 minutes, Colton stated that she was shaken up and she passed out from crying on the way.  

    I slammed my hand down on the table, my secretary looked at me and placed her hand on my leg and said everything was going to be alright.  I grabbed her wrist and told her if she ever touches me again, I would break her hand.  Her eyes grew wide with a shock that I would threaten her, I mean, after all, she didn't know what I was or what I was capable of.  I could smell her arousal as I gripped her wrist, I let go and walked away.  Rhonda was 19, and I knew she thought she could sleep her way up the chain of command for work.  I had a thought, "Why could my Luna not feel that she was hitting on me, and why didn't I feel the mate bond when she died?"  Brandon  my wolf was anxious

Why wasn't I dying inside like everyone said would happen when I lost my mate?

Wait...2 years ago we were in the hospital after a rogue fight, my heart stopped beating they thought we were dead it severed the mate bond, but she never said anything...she acted normal, is that what happened?

My mate was so perfect, gave us wonderful pups, that's why it didn't kill us to be apart for business.

I need to find out if that really happened, and I needed to get ahold of the witch Clarissa who placed the spell on Marena and Liam asking if there was anyone who could've known about the protection spell that was placed on the children.  

I quickly dialed Ram's number and asked, "Do you know where Clarissa is hiding these days?"  Ram sighed replying, "You didn't hear did you?"  I said, "No, what happened."  Ram said, "One of her students killed her during class, she overpowered Clarissa."  I put my fingers through my salt and pepper hair and sighed in frustration.  I heard Ram ask, "Did something happen?"  I told Ram, "Liam and the Luna were killed this morning in our home."  Ram said, "s**t!!  What happened to Marena?"  I replied, "She is the only one they left alive for some reason."  Ram told him, "I will cast a protection spell on Marena, but you need to tell her today.  I think I may know why they kept her alive, but I'm going to look into it and get back to you." "Thanks, Ram, I appreciate your help old friend," I said.  We need to get to Marena now, she is more powerful than we thought!  "What do you mean Brandon?"  You will find out in time.
