Finally Found My Mate

Ryker's POV

How can you just let her leave?  I growled. You must be dumb.

She's OUR Mate, but why didn't we know when she arrived?

We need to talk to Alpha NOW!

Ryan's POV

Constant battle fighting with Ryker about seeing my mate, and just letting her go.  I knew she would be okay with the way she held herself after refusing Colton as a mate, but I kept wondering will she refuse us as well.  I know she said she wouldn't deny us, but I'm angry at Colton for what he has done to make her not feel safe.  I need to speak to Alpha Brian and figure out what the hell is going on.

    I walked to Alpha Brian's door, and I took a deep breath, Alpha Brian must have heard me outside his door, "Ryan, please do come in, son."  Alpha turned and looked at me, "Ryan, I know you have many questions, and I plan to answer them, but do not be mad at Marena."  "Alpha, why couldn't I smell her before tonight when she was leaving, and is she okay?," those were my only questions to the Alpha at the moment.  Alpha looked at me with concerned eyes, "Ryan, Marena is a hybrid, she is a powerful witch, and she is also an Alpha Female, she will be fine.  She asked my permission to leave, the news that she got from confronting Colton of that boy has got her upset."  I asked Alpha, "Did she care for him?"  Alpha responded to me, "You know Ryan, you are the only one that has asked if she's going to be okay, she may have liked that boy, but he tried to push past her limits, and instead of letting him win she left the scenario.  She portrayed lots of strength, and I also need to tell you more about her before you decide to pursue her as a mate if you choose to do so."

    Alpha Brian brought me back to the night of her date, "She was getting ready at fifteen and a half, she looked beautiful this was her first date.  She made sure her phone was charged, that she wasn't overdressing for the movie.  After the movie, they were on their way back, and the boy wanted to stop at the park to show her the sunset over the valley, she was hesitant but nodded.  He tried getting her into the back seat when she pushed him away and said no, he got rough and he slapped her across the face and kicked her out of his car expecting her to walk home.  They were in Franklinton, and to get home in Richardson is about 4 miles, but if she were walking, it would have been a long time.  I got a text message asking me to pick her up; she told me the route she was going or sending her mother to pick her up.  I was on my way to pick her up and found her on the side of the road crying.  I brought her home, and she ran upstairs and didn't come back down."  I felt devastated that Marena had gone through that; she was so young and so fragile.  Too bad that kid is dead, or I would have killed him myself from hurting our mate.  I was fighting the urge to tell my wolf that he was right.  So I brought my eyes back up to Alpha, "Please tell me the rest."  Alpha looked at me with nostalgia, "Ryan, Colton has been following Marena for the last year and a half, I've tried convincing him that she will come to him when the time is right if she was his mate, but he was relentless.  He has been stalking her, and I've let it go because his father is my beta, but now that I know that he killed that boy, a crime has been committed.  Marena knows that he can no longer be her mate because of his cruel acts.  He saw everything that happened that night, and when he drove away from Marena, he left her there and followed him home.  He dragged his body from the car to the forest and mauled him to death and left no mercy."  

    My best friend mauled a boy; he committed an act against the pack rules?  Why is he so obsessed with her, yes she's my mate, but he is stalker creepy, how could he think she would find that attractive.  I coughed and cleared my throat, "Thank you Alpha, I appreciate your honesty, and I will not be repeating any of this to any members of the pack, you have trusted me to keep Marena's story safe, and that's what I intend to do."  Alpha nodded, and I walked out, I needed to get some water from the kitchen and go for a run and think about everything Alpha just told me.  I smelled him before I saw him, s**t, why did I not just go for a run.  I walked to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water; I could hear him growling at me with his dark green eyes glaring at the back of my head.  I whipped around, "What is it that you want, Colton?"  "How dare you convince my mate, that I'm not good enough for her," Colton said.  I took a step towards Colton as we were nose to nose, "Listen here you s**t, she rejected you because you are ruthless, you cannot make her a great leader if your temper always has to be a concern, she apologized to me before she even rejected you.  Now get the hell out of my face."  I saw his fist before he landed the blow, I stepped back, and I punched Colton in the face twice, "Now you better take what I said to heart, and stay away from my mate!"  I could feel Colton raging with anger; I walked out of the kitchen, then I heard the glass patio door shattered.  I saw an angry Cain running for the woods while his mind linked me, "I will find her, and you cannot stop me."  My heart in my throat, I wanted to rip him apart for Marena.  s**t, I need to mind link, Marena.

    "Marena, can you answer me?" I mind linked her.  "Hey Ry, I'm getting ready to go to work, but what's up?" she responded.  "Marena, Colton is on a rampage he's gone mad, and he's looking for you.  Do you need help, do you want me to come to visit until things settle down?"  "You know Ry, I'm not worried about Colton I masked my scent from everyone, which is why you couldn't smell me until last night, but if you want to come to spend some time here.  I'm not opposed to it, but you need to remain in human form, and I need you to meet my mentor Ram to cover your scent," she said.  "Do you want to mind link your father and let him know, or should I?" I asked.  Before I could even get an answer, Alpha Brian was walking towards me, "Have a safe trip and follow her directions.  Don't worry about Colton; I'll take care of him and his anger issues."  I quickly packed a bag and threw it in my truck.  I drove a 2020 F150, long box midnight blue, with dark tinted windows, and I opened the windows and headed towards my destination.  I was an hour in, and I heard Marena, "Ry, stop for some food and water.  Ram will meet you outside, and he will change the scent, so if Colton were following you, he would not be able to detect you."  "Shouldn't I be the one taking care of you?  Not the other way around?" I said.  "Ry, you can come to take care of me when you get here, and I mean it.  We have some business to talk about, then some personal stuff," she said.

    I stopped at the Shell station and filled up my truck in New Orleans; a man approached me.  He looked younger than I, and I was only 21.  He was African American, had black and blonde dreads, he had piercing blue eyes, medium build to his body, and he stood 5'7".  I was surprised when he said, "Ryan, it is done.  Colton only followed you briefly, but your scent is covered, and I rerouted your scent back home so he things you only went out briefly."  "I can't thank you enough for keeping Marena safe," I said.  Ram chuckled, "You will find out it was not I that kept her safe, but you will find out shortly."  "She wants you to head to the Bayou on the Lake, she said to park your truck by the road as you will not need it, " he said.  I kept thinking this woman has it all planned out, doesn't she?  I quickly got in my truck and drove 49 minutes to the Bayou on the Lake.  As I approached, I found her standing there near the Bayou edge in a dark blue maxi dress, barefoot, with her blonde hair falling around her shoulders, and her piercing emerald eyes looking at me.  I nodded, "Alpha."  "Shut up, " she said.  She grabbed my button-up shirt and crushed her lips to mine, she jumped up and wrapped her legs around my waist.  f**k, I am in deep for this woman.  As I kissed her neck, I licked the spot where she would bare my mark, and I felt her take in my scent, as I took in her, she smelled like fresh flowers and vanilla.  She grabbed my shirt and said, "Ry, next time, just slam me up against the tree and take me, would you?"  My jaw slacked open, this woman was a lady in the street, but a freak when it came to s*x.
