Phase I: III

Phase I: III Phase I; III I couldn't move, I couldn't move a single bone in my body. I stood, gaping at her as she pressed her lips against mine. It was warm and wet. But that wasn't my concern, My concern was that I could feel something mystical coming out from her and entering me. I couldn't see this energy of a thing. I could only feel it and it made me numb up to the point that I couldn't move at all. I tried to raise my arms to push her but I could hardly feel my fingertips. This weird energy that was flowing through me was engulfing my entire system slowly but gradually and when I felt it in every fiber of my body, that was the moment she pulled away. As she leaned back, her body turned slack and she collapsed on the floor. With my mouth wide open and my legs shaking, I stood, watching her unconscious body on the floor, and had the sudden urge to do the same too. But something was holding me up, something much stronger than me. With my lips quivering, I called out. "M-miss? Miss… K-kerlem?" No response. As I was about to call for help, I heard a voice coming from nowhere. 'Hello!' the voice was kind of quirky. I turned and looked around but I saw no one. "Um… where are you?" I asked in the empty restroom. 'I'm here. Up here' the voice said. I looked up to the ceiling but I still didn't see anyone. "I… don't get it" I frowned. Where was the voice coming from? 'What are you talking about? I am inside you, up in your head, silly' I stilled. I paused and took a sharp breath in. No way! Before I could register anything else, I ran out of the bathroom as quickly as my legs could take me. I ran and pushed the people in my way while muttering apologies. 'What are you running from? You can't run away from me, I'm inside you' I heard the voice again. This time, I ran even harder and out of the mall. I continued running till I reached my house and I yanked the door open. I pressed myself to the door as my breaths came out in uneven spurts. "Andronika, is that you?" I heard my aunt calling from the living room. I swallowed hard and answered. "Yes, aunt. I got the sneakers" I said shakily. 'Did you only get sneakers? Why not a nice dress too?' the voice said and I jolted up. I ran up the stairs and to my room. Once I shut the door tightly behind me, I recalled everything that took place in the mall. "No, this isn't happening" I paced down my room. "It's just a dream, Just a dream. Nothing more" I ran my hands through my hair. 'Do you always talk to yourself like this?' the voice asked. I sighed. It seems too real to be a dream. 'Of course, I'm very real' the voice snickered. "Who… what are you?" I asked cautiously. 'Thought you were never going to ask' 'I'm Aleka' the voice answered. "Aleka? Who are you and how are you in my head?" I asked. 'Well, who I am is a little bit complicated but I have a reason for being in your head' the voice, Aleka, said. "What reason is that?" I can't believe I'm actually talking to my head. 'You see, Andronika, a lot of things have been kept hidden from you and I'm here to unveil the secrets' "What-what do you mean by that?" I stuttered. 'I'm sure you're a smart girl and you know that your aunt Sentiana haven't been telling you some things,' the voice, Aleka, said. "You mean, you know what my aunt has been hiding from me?" Ever since I was a child, I always felt something was off. Because each time we moved out of a house, it was almost as though we were running. Aunt Sentiana would delete all old contacts and start afresh. She would start a new life and never mention the former place we stayed. She always warned me not to tell anyone too much about myself, to make friends but keep them at a safe distance. Whenever I asked her why, she always said one thing. You would find out why at the right time. The right time? I never knew what that was or if it would ever come to pass. Now, as I stand in my room and this strange voice tells me she's about to unveil the secrets my aunt has been hiding, as crazy as it seems, I believe her and I'm ready to hear what she has to say. 'Yes, Sentiana has hidden a lot and it's about time you-' A rapid knock came from my door. "Nika? Open up" my aunt's voice came from the hall. 'Go open the door' the voice, I mean, Aleka urged. I moved forward and opened the door. My aunt stood by the door, watching me with inquisitive eyes. "What's wrong?" she asked. "What?" "You're acting strange. What's going on, Andronika?" her voice became sharp, meaning she was starting to suspect something. I calmed myself down and answered with a straight voice. "Don't be silly, aunt. There's nothing wrong with me" I let out a small smile. Her eyebrows shot up from behind her glasses and she crossed her arms. "Andronika, are you sure?" she asked again. "Of course I am. You can be silly sometimes" I waved my hand casually. "OK, come downstairs, let's have some cake," she said and went down the stairs. "Be right there," I shut the door. "Wait, what about Miss Kerlem?" I just remembered I left her unconscious in the bathroom. 'Don't worry about her, she will be fine. Her body is just getting back to its normal self' "Normal self? What do you mean by that?" 'Oh, I possessed her for a week now and her body must be tired' "You what?!!!" I yelled. 'Quiet, do you want your aunt to hear you?' "What do you mean by you possessed her? What-what are you?" Somehow, I knew I would dread the answer to that question. 'Oh, darling. I'm an ancient spirit that has been lurking earth for decades now and now, I just found what I've been looking for'
