Phase I; IV

Phase I; IV I woke up with a jolt and rubbed my eyes to adjust to the bright light coming from my window. I check the alarm clock on my nightstand and the glowing lights read 7:30 am. I yawned and stretched my limbs as yesterday all rushed into my head. Wait! What kind of crazy dream did I have last night?! Just to confirm, I called out for the voice. "Hello?" I said into the silence. "Hello?" I called again. All of a sudden, I started laughing hard. "God, Andronika, you have the wildest dreams ever" I shook my head and chuckled. "Time for school" I swung my legs out of the bed, about to stand up when, 'Booyah!' And I fell on the floor from the shock. 'You thought I was gone?' Aleka laughed. "Dammit!" I cursed as I rubbed my butt. 'You're not going to get rid of me so easily' she snickered. "Lucky me" I groaned and stood up from the floor. I went into the bathroom, took a shower, put on a grey shirt with black jeans, and got ready for school. "You said you have something to tell me yesterday?" I asked as I combed my hair. 'Yes, I do but before that, you need to go somewhere' Aleka said. "Somewhere? Where?" I frowned. 'The museum "What am I going to do in a museum?" I arranged my books into my backpack. 'You'll see when we get there but first, go to school' I opened my door and went downstairs. My aunt was frying eggs and she moved to the side to check the bread on the toaster. "Good morning, aunt" I greeted and helped her with the eggs. "Good morning, darling. How was your night?" She smiled. She was on her signature Nike tracksuit. It was blue and white sweatpants with a matching hoodie. One of her favorite attires. Her blonde hair was in a bun as usual and her big black-rimmed glasses were sitting on her face. "It was okay. What are you up to today?" I put the eggs on a plate and took them to the table. "Nothing much. I'm just going to write more chapters then probably take a nap or something," she yawned and took a sip from her coffee. 'That's great" I sat on the chair and took some eggs from the plate. "Do you know that we have stayed in Highland for two years now?" I brought out a conversation. "Really? Time flies so fast" she said. "Yeah, is it about time we moved again?" I asked. 'Watch her body reactions and not what comes out of her mouth' I heard Aleka say. "Uh... " Aunt touched her neck and diverted her gaze from me. "I don't know. The neighborhood is quiet and safe so maybe till you graduate?" she mumbled out. I also noticed her feet were shaking beneath the table. Why does she always acts odd whenever I mention something about our moving? 'You'll find out in no time' Aleka said. Wait, you can read my mind? 'I'm in your mind, silly. Of course, I can read what you think' I think she rolled her eyes at me. Then have you been letting me talk out to myself like a mental patient?! 'Oh, come on. It was fun to watch' I'm glad you had fun. "Nika?" I snapped out of my reverie when I heard my aunt calling me. "Yeah?" "Dylan's here. What were you thinking about?" Aunt frowned. "Oh, he is?" I stuffed the toast in my mouth and stood up. "Won't you eat some more?" she asked as I took my backpack. "No, I'm okay. Bye, love you!" I ran out of the kitchen and put my sneakers on before I left the house. "Quit honking like a wild animal" I hissed as I walked to Dylan's car which was parked right outside our driveway. "I wouldn't be honking if you didn't take forever to come out" He countered as I got in the car. He was in a plain white shirt and black teared jeans which were topped up with black ankle boots. His long black strands were put back with a rubber band. "Why didn't you just knock on my door like a normal human being?" I put on my seatbelt. "Because normal is boring and Dylan isn't so shut your mouth, sweet cheeks. How was your night?" he grinned and I shook my head. "It was fine" I replied. "Did you dream of me?" He ignited the engine with his key. "Yes, the worst nightmare of my life" I wailed. "Playing hard to get" he mumbled under his breath. "Drive, D" He started the car and drove out of the street. A light tune was playing on the radio and we sang to the parts we knew to school. We got out of the car after parking at the lot. "Bye, Nika" Dylan ruffled my hair and walked into the building to his class. I walked down to my first class which was English. After a successful class, I moved to my next class and as I was on my way to lunch, I saw a familiar blonde head down the hall. "Miss Kerlem" I ran after her. 'Why are you calling her?' Aleka groaned. Miss Kerlem turned and I stopped right before her. She was in a seaweed green dress that flowed down her body effortlessly and her golden hair was put in wavy curls as she adorned her lips with red lipstick. "Yes?" she raised her eyebrow. "Uh? You don't remember me?" I asked. "Why should I remember you? Are you the former president of the United States that you should be remembered?" She crossed her arms and stared at me. "Umm... " I licked my suddenly dry lips. "Thought so" she glared and walked down the hall without a single glance back. 'Serves you right' Aleka snorted. So she doesn't remember a thing? I asked through my head. 'Yes, she won't because as I possessed her, my memory became hers and I removed you from her memory' I have only seen this in books or documentaries. How is it possible? 'It is possible because contrary to your imagination, there is a whole different world behind you'
