Phase I; V

538 Words
I; V I slammed my book shut as we closed the last period and stood up from my seat to get out of the class. I went towards my locker to drop my book and carry my assignment. As I closed the locker, I banged my head on the door. Today has been the most devastating day ever. I never knew how having an ancient spirit lurking in your head could be so damn annoying and irritating. During class, before the teacher could even say a word, Aleka was already rambling on the topic and every single detail about it. No matter how many times I told her to stop, she just won't listen. Because of that I zoned out of reality and when I was asked a question by a teacher, I stumbled on my words. Me! Andronika! Stumble on a question in class?! I didn't blame the students who were looking at me when I couldn't answer the question. They were used to me being an all 'A' student of perfection and for me not to be able to answer a simple question, was a huge blow on my ego. I blamed this ancient spirit. 'Hey! Don't blame me! I was only trying to help you out!' she argued in my head. Thanks so much but next time, I would rather you keep shut! I grumbled inside my head. "Nika!" I heard a familiar calling me from down the hall. I banged my head on the locker again. Dang it! "Hey, what are you doing?" Dylan stopped beside me and asked. "Nothing," I looked uo with a grimace. "Okay, it's time for our activity. Ready to beat those redheads at their game?" he draped his arm on my shoulder and pulled me down the hall. "Wait," I halted. "What is it?" he looked down at me. "I won't be able to attend the activity today" I said. "Why?" He frowned. "Umm... I need to go to the museum" I let out. "Museum? For what?" "For... a history homework. Yeah, it's due this week and today will be the only chance I have to go" I lied straight through my teeth. "Okay?" he narrowed his eyes and I gave him a small smile to convince him. "Let me drop you off then," he took my hand. "No!" I pulled away from him. "I mean... Uh... it's okay, I can take the bus. Just go to the activity" I motioned for him to go. Please leave. "I can drop you off and then get back in time. Let's go" he said. "It's really fine, D. I'll be okay on my own" I insisted. "Fine, but why do I feel you're not telling me something?" he crossed his arms. "Nonsense. It's not like there's a talking spirit in my head" I laughed. God! I'm awful at awkward situations. "Weird but still Nika" he shook his head and walked down the hall. "Bye, Nika!" he waved. "Have fun, D" I hollered. Hey, Aleka, why were you so quiet? I asked as I walked out of the school double doors. 'I was admiring the beautiful creation you were speaking to' she said in a dreamy tone. And I rolled my eyes.
