That afternoon, we sat in front of our hamburgers at the diner. My gaze traveled from Nate to Abby and back. Something was up with the two of them. They hadn't said a word to each other since we got here. Abby hadn't talked to anyone at all. Thinking back to the moment they had appeared at our regular table, I noticed that she had given me in particular a venomous stare. What was going on with the chick? Was she on her period or what?
