After spending all day in the meadow playing, eating, and enjoying each other’s company, the members of Bloodstone stood silently together to watch the sunset. After speaking with Laura’s parents, everyone felt a day of fun followed by a period of silence at Laura’s favorite time of day would be the best way to celebrate her life. After sunset, a bonfire would be lit along with multiple small campfires for families and small groups to share, and those who chose would run together.
In the dimming light, everyone was holding one another. Mates were wrapped in each other’s arms. Families held their members close, snuggling with their children and grandchildren. Everyone felt the loss of a pack member and knew it could be any of them at any time.
