It was the day of Laura’s life celebration. Cassie stood looking over the area on the south side of town that had been used for pack gatherings for generations. They always kept the Winter Solstice Festival in the park and the town square to draw attention to the local shops. Everything that was for the pack was held in the meadow that lay before her. Part of the area had been mostly cleared of snow, so tables and a seating area could be set up for food, refreshments, and socializing. The rest was left snow-covered for everyone to play in.
