Cassie had raced to the ancient cedar and collapsed. She ripped her clothes off as quickly as she could. She was trying to block out the chattering of her wolf, Freya, as best she could. Freya was excited about knowing who their mate was. She had no concern over what had happened at Miss Maggie’s or why they had not recognized Malekai as their mate until they kissed. Freya was excited that Malekai was their mate and did not care why they were, only that they were. “Freya! Stop talking!” Cassie scolded her wolf. “Just shift, and let’s get to the cave.
