Awkward moment

Halen's POV

I woke up early this morning, a smile on my face. I am really hungry this morning, so I go to the bathroom and then head downstairs to get something to eat. As I get to the kitchen door, I see Michael and Dante are already att he table. They keep their eyes down like they can't look at me. This is strange. I think I will see what I can get out of them. "Good morning, gentlemen. What is there to eat around here?" They both look at each other and don't answer me. I'm getting annoyed at them now. "Hello, can you guys hear me?" I walk over to Dante and put my arms around his neck and kiss his cheek. Then I go over to Michael and give him a kiss on his cheek and say," Good morning, bestie." I hear a growl and look over at Dante. He is glaring at Michael.

I stand in front of both of them and ask,"What is going on? Why are you growling, and why is Michael not looking at me?" Dante looks at me and says, " I told him not to look at you, and because I'm his alpha, he has to listen." Michael shrinks back and tilts his head in submission. I look at Dante, glare at him, and explain very slowly, " I am friends with Michael, and you're not going to tell me if I can and can't talk to him. There is nothing going on between us but friendship." Maybe on my side because as I look at Michael, he is frowning. I shake my head and walk to the fridge and get a drink. I look at both of them and say,"When you are ready to act like the Alpha and Beta, let me know. I'll be upstairs waiting."

I wound up laying down, and I just woke up. It's been 2 hours, and the guys never came up. Well, I'm going to go outside for a walk around the garden. I need to think about how to approach this subject with the Alpha and Beta fighting over me. I need them both in my life but there to need to be lines drawn. I head for the door, and as I go to open it, I hear Dante talking to Michael. "I thought about what Halen said, and I think it's my wolf who is jealous, and it makes me act out. I know you're good friends and you won't do anything. Accept my apology." Dante replied, "As my Alpha and best friend, I respect you, and I accept your apology although it was not needed. I love Halen, but only in a sisterly way. She is my other best friend." I slowly close the door, smiling to myself aa I walk towards the garden.

It was a while since I came out to the garden, but I heard footsteps coming up behind me. It is Dante, and he stops beside me and holds his hand out for me to take. I take his hand, he plays with my fingers, then looks at me searching my eyes for something. I asked him what was wrong , and he asked if I had forgiven him.I chuckle a little to myself and look him in his eyes, blink at him twice and say, "Yes, but do it again and it's going to be bad for you." I pat him on his chest and walk away. He stands there, mouth open, and blinks a couple of times. I guess he's not used to being dismissed.

It's dinner time, and I head downstairs to see what there is to eat. I get to the kitchen door, and Michael greets me first. I'm taken aback because he blocks me, so I can't get past him. I look at him and ask him," Can I get past you, I'm hungry, and you're in my way." He laughs at me and says, " I'm following orders, Ma'am." I huff and yell to Dante to tell Michael to let me in, or he's in trouble. I hear Dante laugh, and the next thing I know, Michael is moving. Must have been mindlinking each other. I say thank you and walk past him and stop dead in my tracks. The table is done up beautifully with crystal wine glasses and China and candles. This is beautiful, and I look at the two most important people in my life and start to cry. Dante comes over to me and puts his arm around me. He tugs me close and tells me he understands how overwhelming this is. It just makes me cry harder. I calm down, and we sit down to eat the delicious dinner.

I am happy right now and would love to see what happens next. I have two great guys who love me in different ways. It's still hard to understand the differences in someone caring for me without being violent, and in the past, those who supposedly cared for me inflicted pain and suffering. I know it will take time to heal and trust again, but I feel that these two men will help me in extremely different ways.One through the love of friendship and the other through the love of being mates. I can't wait, so I need to get these two on the same page when it comes to me and my well-being. Here goes nothing.

"Alpha Dante and Delta Michael, I want to let you both know how much I care for you both. Dante, my love for you is growing. I can't wait to see where it takes us. Delta Michael, our love is based on a strong friendship, always having each other's back. I don't know what I wodo without you. So, that being said. The both of you need to realize I'm not going to pick and choose between you. There is no competition for my love. It is given freely to you both. You need to figure out the rest. No jealousy allowed." I go over to each one, give them a kiss on the cheek, and turn to go outside for some fresh air. I figured I'd give them a minute to digest what I said.

When I go back in, neither one is where I left them. So, I sigh and head up to my room to take a hot bat and go to bed.
