Memories of the Past, Troubles of the present
Alistair stands at the edge of a mountain cliff in Ilyria, looking out the villages below. Lost in thought of the memories from two years past; memories of a happier past, and the warm embrace of Sophia an Earth element, and his lover. Like many others, Sophia was killed by the dark lord Marcus and his army.
She had been killed all because Queen Katarina refused Lord Marcus the right to marry her youngest daughter, the princess Astrid. By right, and order of things Marcus was supposed to Wed Belinda, Queen Katrina's eldest daughter, and the elder princess. However, Marcus refused Belinda, insisting on taking the princess Astrid and the youngest daughter as his bride.
Like Marcus, Alistair was four years Astrid's senior. So what is it about the young princess that's so special to cause such a war, and worth costing the lives of so many? "The queen should have just given the brat to him and been done with it," Alistair thought to himself.
Standing at five foot nine inches tall, dark brown hair, and Blueish Grey eyes with tribal tattoos covering the entirty of his left arm, Alistair was the strongest and only one of his kind. Alistair contained and commanded two elements at once. Fire and Water.
"General Sir. The queen has requested your presence, sir," calls out Salazar, Alistair's long-time friend, and second in command. "What does Katarina want now, Salazar? What has one of her little princesses lost a feather?" Alistair asks in a cold, harsh voice. Alistair despised the royal family, every one of them even though he had never seen or met Astrid before he despised her. As a matter of fact, no one has seen or met Princess Astrid before. Her mother kept her well hidden and out of the viewing of everyone. Even still, he despised her for being born into the royal family and a princess, but he despised the queen the most.
"No, Alistair. Princess Astrid has been taken by the dark lord Marcus," replies Salazar in a concerned hushed tone. He didn't understand why, upon hearing those words, it felt as if his world had begun to crumble and come crashing down around him. Alistair's heart began to race, and panic set in his mind; without hesitation he took flight heading straight for the portal that would take him from Ilyria to Lovonia where the royal family resided and Astrid was last seen.
His fear controlling him, Alistair raced to the portal with such speed that even Salazar was having difficulty keeping up, which took Salazar by surprise considering that he contained the element of wind and was usually faster.
"Salazar, go collect Tobias, Draven, and Wallace. Afterward, meet me at the palace, and do it quickly," Alistair commanded. "Yes, General," and with those words, Salazar was gone.
At the speed in which Alistair entered the portal, it was not long before he was standing on palace grounds. He quickly walked down the corridors to the throne room, pushing past many palace guards. "Move! Get out of my way now!" he demands angrily.
Upon reaching the throne as to which Queen Katarina sat and finding her crying, it was in that very moment Alistair's heart stopped beating and broke.
