Michael
I finished training and headed to my room, I needed someone to distract me from my own thoughts. All I could think about was my date with Cam tonight. I looked at my desk; work would be the best distraction. I fired up my laptop and dealt with most of the paper documents, just needed to go through my emails.
Half way through I came across an email from leevuomo.com, I clicked onto it thinking it may be a new customer. Instead it filled my laptop with obscene images and videos. It looked like BDMS, hard core porn, the guy was practically being tortured by two other men. It made me shudder. Cal had told me about some of the clubs in the city to avoid if I didn’t want to end up with someone with particular taste, now I knew why.
Thank god the volume was off.
Must be a virus.
After tidying my desk and cleaning my room I decided that I should just have a long soak in the bath. Kill some time even adding in some of bath liquids my mother had arranged on the bathroom shelf and this crazy round thing that fizzed making the water a turquoise colour. They gave off a sweet aroma. I soaked away my nerves, got out and changed into tight black trousers and a black shirt with a small red emblem of a bird perched on a branch. I loved the shirt. Bought it in the city and knew the impact it had, it made my muscles look defined and hugged me in all the right places. After checking myself at least 10 times I was satisfied that I looked alright, just a little nervous. I tried to calm down, didn’t want to sweat in my shirt.
I grabbed my keys and phone then headed to the door. If I left now I would be 10 minutes early and could pick the seat to make sure that if anything happened, then I wouldn't be vulnerable. Instead of telling anyone in my pack where I was heading I texted Tom.
Me: Off on a date. If you don’t hear anything in the next two hours. Send in the cavalry to Pepe’s.
Tom: stop overthinking. Eat d**k and enjoy
Me: really?!?!
Tom: lol you know you want too. Remember boundaries first though. Ah my baby boy is all grown up and dating an Alpha.
Me: I hate you.
Tom: I love you too.
I pulled up outside the restaurant and headed inside only to find Cam already sitting at the table tucked away in the corner behind some greenery right by the window. Even though very little people could see the table in the restaurant, the side street would be able to have a great view of us. He looked so sexy sitting there looking out the window. I decided to take a moment to appreciate him. He was wearing a red fitted shirt with a black stripe on one side and probably black pants. His hair was combed back, highlighting his high cheek bones and only then I noticed how kissable his lips looked.
“Enjoying yourself by there, handsome.”
Shit. I didn’t realise he had turned when I was eyeing his pecks through his tight shirt. I cleared my throat and walked over to the empty seat. Cam stood, like a gentleman and waited for me to sit. I didn't know how I felt about that, but smiled.
“Been here long?” I grabbed the menu already on my place-mat.
Looking at the small tea light candle between us. The place was intimate. The table smaller than what you’d normally expect to the point that our calves when stretched out rubbed together.
“Not that long, was just excited to see you. Can’t blame a guy when you walk in looking like that, handsome.” Cam winked.
I looked at him and smiled.
“Not looking too bad yourself, Cam.” I tried to be cheeky giving him a wink, but I started to feel nervous scanning the menu.
Most of the food was in a different language so struggled to understand what was what, although I loved food I like to know what’s in it, and I didn’t want to order fish. I hate fish.
“Do you mind if I order for us. I'll pick the wine too.” Cam saving the day. “Is there anything you don’t eat.”
“Fish and olives.” I looked at him shyly. He laughed. Looking at the menu.
“I have you don’t worry, relax.” He seemed softer in the candle light, not the elusive Alpha I had experienced in my dad’s office or at the bar. The way the light flickered on his face made him even more alluring. I couldn’t stop staring. Then I remembered that I needed to take this slow. This was just dinner.
He called over the waiter and ordered the food. His tone was a little cold and abrupt. I felt sorry for the waiter, Henry, when the youngster explained that the wine Cam requested was unavailable. I had to look away as I was a little embarrassed. I tried to smile at Henry to calm the situation.
"Hey. I'll drink anything. Thank you Henry." I smiled up at the waiter.
Cam continued to scowl. The young waiter nodded his head. I could see the sweat glisten on his forehead. He was a werewolf. He smelt like a rogue. He was trying not to bow to the pissed off Alpha sitting opposite me.
Cam waved him off. “Anyway. Handsome. How has your day been?”
I told him that it was uneventful. That my father wanted me to rest before taking on more Alpha duties. He smiled and agreed with by dad. Told me it would be nice before I had the weight of the pack on my shoulders. I was weary about divulging pack details and he sensed my hesitation changing the subject. I started to relax and our food came. Chicken pasta in some creamy sauce. It was amazing. The wine was also very tasty, but I didn’t really drink the stuff so it went straight to my head. I was laughing louder and our jokes got a bit dirtier. The barriers came down and we basked in each others company. The world dissolved away and it was just us two.
I forgot about Tom until I felt my phone vibrate on the table. "Sorry I have to answer this otherwise they will send someone here to get me." Cam smiled and I melted at the sight. I quickly text tom saying I was alright. Night was still young. I'd ring him when I get home.
We were in the middle of a conversation about my love for spicy food when I noticed the lights in the kitchen turn off. I looked at Cam in confusion.
“Okay okay. Shall we get out of here and get dessert somewhere else.” I looked at my watch. It was time for the restaurant to lock up. We were the last two, but the owner was an old werewolf, I knew he wouldn't approach two Alphas even if he wanted to politely asked them to leave. I smiled at the staff hanging around the bar.
“Yeah. I didn’t realise the time.” I pulled out my wallet.
“This is my treat, handsome.” I rolled my eyes at him.
“I like to pay my way....” as I handed him some notes. He leaned over the table.
“I told you future Alpha, you roll your eyes at me one more time I'll bend you over my knee and spank you". I gawked at him unable to figure out how to respond. "It's my treat future Alpha." He pulled out a black card.
“Fine. I'll leave a tip.” He snorted and grinned at me in a mischievous way.
Cam leaned over and placed his hand on top of mine and I didn’t flinch or move away. It felt comfortable. He wove his fingers into mine. I tried to stop the red travelling up my face.
“Okay, handsome, you can leave the tip.” We finished up the wine and I left a hefty tip, smiling at Henry while waving as I left. He gave me the biggest toothy smile I'd ever seen.
Mouthing thank you, I concluded he was actually a good looking boy. Just as we got outside the fresh air hit me like a ton of bricks. My legs shook a little and I felt dizzy. I leaned against the restaurant wall. I shouldn't have drunk the last of the wine. I know I definitely can’t drive. I haven’t even noticed that Cams hand was on my waist and the other on my shoulder. Gently holding me up.
“Come on. We'll pick up some ice cream and a coffee to clear your head.” He laughed. Man I didn’t know what was bigger my embarrassment or my want for him to lean in and kiss me.
“I don’t think I could drive anyway.” I shock my head.
“No you won’t be driving tonight future Alpha. What will your dad say if I send home his son drunk I wonder?” Cam sounded amused.
I looked at the side of his big SUV and felt a bit guilty. "I didn’t tell Dad. Not anyone in my pack. Not yet. It’s complicated." I looked at Cam and I couldn’t read his face. He didn’t smile and I felt a little anger roll off him.
“I'm sor....”
“Don’t. I know why you didn’t, but you should always tell someone in your pack where you are.” He was worried about me? He opened the car door. “Come on jump in. The nights not over yet.” I buckled myself in and he climbed in beside me. My head was a little fuzzy. I had no idea where we were going, but the buildings surrounding us meant we were in the city limits.
We pulled up at an abandoned car park and I could smell the sea. Cam walked out. “Take your shirt and shoes off. We'll be walking over the dunes.” He went to the back and pulled out a flask.
“I thought we were getting ice cream.” I was confused as I stripped off the clothing he listed. I was unsure why I would need to take off my shirt but I listened away, especially when I noticed Cam do the same.
“You need coffee to sober up. Come on.” I looked at his tones chest and chiselled abs. He was sexy. The way he moved. The way his muscles flexed. He was drool worthy.
He held the flask and bottled water in one hand and held out the other hand for me to take. I looked around and gave him my hand. He pulled me over the dunes to a secluded spot where a few logs had been placed in a circles surrounded by dunes except one walk way that looked out at the black sea. I guessed this is where campers come to sit down and light a fire. Cam did the exact thing. I sat on one of the logs and watched his shirtless body move with ease around the timber and then when the flames flickered he looked at me with an expression that I couldn't understand.
“Michael.” I looked at him wide eye. He hadn’t used my name all night.
He prowled closure to me. The atmosphere changed, but I couldn’t read his expression. I felt my body go into defensive mode.
“Tonight you rolled your eyes at me, got drunk, put yourself in possible danger as future Alpha by failing to tell your Alpha your whereabouts and..... you flirted with the young werewolf right in front of my face.” By the time he was finished speaking he was standing right in front of me.
His legs almost touching mine as I had to bend my neck back to look up at him. My hand held tightly onto the log. s**t. If we fight then I need to get my senses back, but the alcohol was running through my veins dulling my instincts.
He bent down his face just inches from mine. “What should I do with you, Michael?”
I gulped loudly.
