Chapter 7

Ian I was still trying to get my head round what had just happened. I replayed the whole event over and over again. As my lips stayed planted on Petra’s, I had watched Alpha Cameron and his little minion Lewis enter the bar when a weird sensation was building up on my lips. Sparks, but not the nice tingly ones that Jack had described to me when he had first kissed Kate, no these were actual sparks. Nasty uncomfortable electric sparks and just before I pulled away a bolt of thunder struck me, lighting up my whole body as I was flung onto the side walk, metres away from Petra. “OH MY GODDESS, Ian, are you alright, I’m so sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” I could see Petra standing over my twitching body. I managed to drag myself off the side walk, stumbling as the sensation slowly came to my legs. “What the f**k was that?! Are you some sort of f*****g demon?” I knew I was shouting. Petra pouted then glared at me. “There’s no need for such vulgar language, Ian. You should have told me your plan; I may have warned you.” I was still trying to figure out if she was a descendant of Thor as I stared at her in disbelief. I should be mad, heck furious at the she-wolf, but there was something about her that just made me want to protect her. That meeting her wasn’t a coincident so my anger faded. I brushed myself off and checked that no one had seen She-Thor throw me with her thunder. The coast was clear; Cameron was in the bar. “We can’t go in there.” She looked at me with a sad face, like the bar was her favourite place on earth and she was just given a lifetime ban. “, but I will make sure there will be other opportunities.” She looked across the street with her hands on her hips as she nodded her head in determination. “It’s just the bar, I’ll take you another time, come one before that d**k Cameron comes back out and picks up your scent.” I jumped on my bike and helped her climb on behind me. I headed to the next best place, home. *Kev, meet me at home, I think I need your help* I needed help, we could be in big trouble if Cameron finds out I’m hiding his she-wolf, minding linking Kev and telling him wold be easier than Justin. *oh Ian, you remembered your brothers, so nice to know you are alive and well* If I didn’t have to keep an eye on the road I would have rolled them. *I don’t need your sarcasm right now; I need your help. Meet me at home* I pushed the throttle. *What have you done now, Ian* *Just be there* I closed the link and pulled up in front of the home I shared with my brothers. I could smell that Kev was already in there and…. “Jeez, great” …. I helped Petra off my bike. Then we headed towards the house full of my family and Scotty. “Look I only asked Kev, my brothers a here, it looks like we have a full house, don’t worry, I won’t let them hand you over to Cameron.” I looked over at Petra before I opened the door. “It okay Ian, I know.” Cocky she-wolf. I entered the cabin and headed straight to the kitchen at the back where I could hear everyone talking and laughing. One side of the kitchen stood the cooker, cupboards, fridge and a breakfast bar, on the other was a big round dining room table. Kev was leaning on the breakfast bar while Jack, Kate and Scotty were playing some sort of game on the table. Petra hid behind me; she didn’t really have a choice as my mass took up the whole door way. “Ian, so what did you do?” They hadn’t scented her yet as Kev looked me up and down. “Or who you do?” Scotty laughed. “Who’s the she-wolf behind you?” “I didn’t realise that I asked you all here?” I stared at Kev who just shrug him shoulders. “We live here, jackass.” Jack shimmed over to Kate, he knew he was going to have s**t for handing over the CCTV footage to the twins. “Come on brother, we can smell the she-wolf.” Kev sighed as if he knew what was coming. I moved aside and Petra stepped forward into the kitchen, giving everyone a bright smile. I heard Kate gasp and stand quickly, it was probably due to the fact they knew Cam was looking for this girl. Kate didn’t need to be so dramatic though. “Look I can explain…” “Moon Luna.” Kate whispered and then bowed her head. Scotty stood and done the same. Me and Jack gawked at them. “Moon Luna, it’s an honour.” Kev had walked out from behind the breakfast bar and was…. Smiling? Holy s**t, I can’t remember the last time he smiled like that, we must have been kids. Not even Kate could make him muster up that smile. All the dark circles and frown lines disappeared and there stood a younger happier version of my grumpy brother. “Please, the honour is all mine. I should be actually thanking you Kevin.” Petra smiled at Kev with such care and thanks you’d swear he just saved her life. “Thanking him for what?” I looked at them. “What in Odin’s name is a Moon Luna.” Jack looked at Kate who seemed to be bewitched by Petra and didn’t answer, as if she didn’t hear her own mate. “Wait, Cameron is hunting you Moon Luna, I guess he is not your mate or family.” Petra giggled at Kev, like they were old friends. I couldn’t understand what the hell was going on. Why won’t any one just tell me what the f**k is happening. “You guess correctly, Kev.” “okay, okay, let’s just back up, what the hell is going on and what the hell is a Moon Luna?” I knew I was shouting, but by f**k I needed answers as I looked between Kev, Scotty and Kate who continued to stare at Petra. “Hello.” “Not a what, Ian man, a who.” Scotty shook his head at me. “You have never heard of the Moon Luna?” “No”, I growled, “If I did, would I ask?” I looked at Scotty and scowled at him. “Yes you have, you just don’t listen, looks like our little brother doesn’t listen either.” Kev looked at Jack. I could feel my temper rising. “I’m sure I would have remembered, Kev.” I hissed at him. He glared at me giving me the biggest stink eye he could muster. “Stupid pup” He yelled at me. “Don’t you yell at me you a-hole” I threw back. “I can’t believe you’ve been driving around with the Moon Luna and you didn’t have a clue, imagine if you injured her, you fool.” I was about to lose my rag with my brother if he didn’t back off, I growled and stepped forward, using my Beta aura, but Kev stood his ground. “BOYS.” Kate shouted at us making everyone in the room jump, expect for Petra who laughed. “Sorry.” We both replied hanging our heads slightly. “Please, for f***s sake, can someone explain.” What the hell was going on and why were they looking at Petra like they had all met before and the moon shone out of her ass. “Ian.” Petra placed a hand on my arm and I instantly calmed. “Petra is the Moon Luna.” Kate pointed out as if was the most obvious thing in the world. “My wolf can feel it and she carries the Moon Luna mark.” “What mark?” I looked at her confused. “The red crescent moon in her neck dent between her collar bones?” Scotty said pointing to Petra “I can’t see any mark” I stepped a bit closer, squinting my eyes. Kev looked at me with concern as I kept on checking Petra’s neck. I furrowed my eyebrows. “Seriously, what mark, why can’t I see it, what does that mean?” I started rubbing my eyes as I grew even more frustrated. I was tired. Kev went to speak, but Petra shook her head stopping him in his tracks. I looked at her. “What is it you’re not telling me, is there something wrong with me?” I growled at her in anger only for Kate, Kev and Scotty to growl back at me. I took a step back, shocked. She laughed. “No Ian, I will explain everything, but first I need to tell you who I am.” She wandered past me, taking a seat next to a very puzzled Jack. Kate ran over and sat on the empty seat beside Petra. I was still furious that she wouldn’t tell me anything about my mate, now there were more secrets and she kept saying she would tell me. I’m still here waiting like a fool. Why won’t she just tell me instead of saying she will tell me, I groaned. “I’ll get us something to drink.” Kev rounded the breakfast bar. “I need something strong, very strong.” I headed to the drinks cabinet in the living room and poured myself some rum as well as Scotty, I knew the rest would have the cold beers in the fridge. We all sat around the table, beers circulated, all turning to face one she-wolf, waiting on Petra for the big reveal. Scotty looking at her as if she was his first celeb crush, all starry eyed. I grouched and shot my rum, pulling the bottle closer to me to pour another; I think I’ll need the rest of the half full bottle tonight. Then I’ll definitely be blind to everyone then, including their stupid vanishing mark. “First, thank you for not alerting Cameron.” She smiled. “I knew I could trust you when I saw you on the beach.” She looked at me. “Second, Congratulations.” Petra smiled at Kate taking away her beer bottle just as Kate was about to take a sip. Kate looked at her in confusion. “Congratulations?” Kate looked around and then to her beer that was now in Petra’s hand. “To you and Jack. You’re having pups.” Kates face dropped as she lost the colour in her cheeks. I heard a loud thud, turning to find Jack passed out on the kitchen floor.
