Chapter 6

Michael I slowly looked at the bar entrance and as I suspected, Alpha Cameron stood there with Lewis by his side. Damn he looked hot. He had changed his shirt to a grey one that defined his muscles in his arms and chest. His pants hugged him in all the right places. My eyes traced his body landing on the bulge that could only be his d**k. f**k. I should not be looking there, my eyes quickly darting to his smug face. I had been caught checking him out. “Back so soon Cameron.” I didn’t miss the coldness on Justin's voice. “Still no sign of your girl. I told you that we'd be in touch if she came here.” His girl? May be I had misread his signals earlier. The number must be because I'm going to be future Alpha and he wants to strengthen the pack relationship. I cursed under my breathe. “Now now Justin. Can’t a man just enter a bar and enjoy a drink.” Brushing off Justin’s icy welcome, his eyes never leaving mine. I turned and faced forward not wanting the attention, porno man gyrating in my mind. I wanted to see more of that man. “I don’t want any more trouble Cameron.” Any more trouble, that was interesting, but my face stayed stoic, as if not listening. “No. Me neither Justin shall we let bygones be bygones.” Lip shifted slightly closer to me, waiting patiently for Justin's answer. “Enjoy your drink Cameron.” Justin's voice forced and dripped with distain. I sipped my beer, looking like I didn’t have a care in the world, I hope. “That was tense.” Lip wriggled his eye brows at me and then whipped his head behind us as Alpha Cameron cleared his throat. “Future Alpha Michael. I didn't think I’d see you so soon. What a thrilling surprise.” He dragged a stool closer to my side, Lip staring over my shoulder in utter confusion. “I'll have four beers.” Nathaniel placed them on the bar and Cameron pushed two towards me and Lip. Wouldn't hurt to have another. As werewolves, we burn off the alcohol faster so I knew two beers would disappear from my system before I got into the car. Cameron have opened his legs wider as his knee brushed my and settled against it. I continued to look forward. “Thanks. Lip that's the last one, we have to head back to the pack some time.” Lip grabbed his beer mumbling something about a crazy cookie keeper. “So, Michael. Tell me a little about yourself.” Cameron shifted to slightly look at me. “What would you like to know Alpha Cameron.” Again I sipped my beer, looking forward. I noticed Justin was paying attention to our conversation as I looked in the bar mirror. I remembered Lip telling me about my dad asking him to keep an eye on us at the nightclub. I guess he was true to his word. Didn’t think Rogues would actually give a s**t. Maybe he just hates Cameron, it felt like it. “Please, enough with the formalities. Call me Cam.” I c****d my eyebrow, surprised, but then I nearly fell from my stool when Cam leaned into my ear. “I want to know everything about you, handsome.” Nico's eyebrows rose so quickly I swear they almost shot off his forehead while staring at Cam. Bloody wolf hearing. My heart beat quickened and my breathing became deeper as the sexy Alpha sat there smirking at me. My dad had mentioned my responsibility to the pack. Dating another Alpha, especially an elusive one such as Cam, could bring major problems down the line. That only made this whole scene a little hotter as he became forbidden fruit, so ridiculously tempting. I knew my ears were blood red and I needed to cool down. I tried my dammed best to not look affected. From Lips furrowed brow I wasn’t doing a good enough job. I was curious though. I had only dated Cal and we didn’t go the whole way. We dated for a couple of months before I let him kiss me, that ended with Tom catching us. It took me forever to let him give me a blow job, even longer for me to give him one, I almost felt sorry for the poor boy. Most dates ended with a hand job. I wanted to take it slow and part of me was relieved that I went at a snail pace when he found his mate. Right now I just felt like an absolute virgin, which of course I was, but like it was written on my forehead for all to see. I took a deep breath and faced him. “Going to have to be more specific, Cam.” I let his name roll off my tongue, almost like a purr. His eyes flicked from mine down to my lips and back up. He looked delicious as his tongue traced his bottom lip. Keep it cool. Keep it cool. Chanting to myself. I turned my head forward and sipped my beer. Nico was staring at us, one side of his lips curled up. A dark expression on his face, either lust or anger, I looked elsewhere before further analysing the emotion. I dipped back into reality, my stomach flipping over like I was on a rollercoaster and had just plunged down a vertical drop from a great height. I was in a bar with a pack of Rogues. Open and exposed. This wasn’t the city teeming with different types of people, these were small town folks who held the same morals. These wolves judged and even in the big city not all Wolves accepted my kind, my way of life. I had been warned by Cal. We had been careful in bars off the Jade Moon territory. Rogues were worse. They perceived us as weak or easy targets, I never understood why, I was still an Alpha. Although I wasn’t ashamed anymore all I could hear was Cal’s warning, not all wolves are accepting, protect yourself. I could feel all their eyes on me, pricking my skin. I downed what was left of my first beer and started on my second. I shifted my knee away from Cams. He sensed my tension. Noticed my movements and looked around the bar. Then over to Lip who was now too enthralled in the game to notice my dilemma. Cam took a deep breath in through his nose, as if to calm himself. “What do you like to eat?” Cam brought me back out to the bar. “Uuummmmm I love anything Italian or spicy. In fact, the spicier the better.” My voice was a little higher than I wanted it to be, but at least my breathing and heart rate slowed down. Cam chuckled. “Well rather you than me, can’t handle the spice myself.” I tried to focus on the game or the music playing in the background. Ignoring the rise in s****l tension between the two of us, I needed this to look like a normal conversation between two Alphas. Well that wasn’t completely normal, but you know what I mean. “So When did you become Alpha.” Maybe normal questions would ease the tension. “5 years ago. My father was killed by vampires, beheaded actually. My mother handed over leadership to me. She didn’t want to lead alone. I was 22 and trained so it was natural for me to take over.” Cams eyes were still on me. “I'm so sorry about your dad. Must have been hard. Haven't heard of vamps coming this close to Baal City or the packs around it for that matter.” I had never actually seen a vampire before, heard they were cold and aloof. Also very dangerous, just like us werewolves. “Yes. Well he was actually on a run on the border closer to the mountains. We’ve had one or two issues that side with a pure blood clan a couple of clicks away. Never been an issue until that night. Apparently they were half-bloods. Too many of them and my dad was alone. Put up hell of a fight mind. There were at least 40 dead vamps when we found him. We been having a small war with the purebloods ever since, nothing cray, we just kill on sight now.” He drank his beer and my eyes watch his thin lips curve around the bottle head, I sat there wondering how his lips would fell wrapped around my c**k. Pushing the thought away, this was a serious subject. “War? Half-blood? I had never heard of half-bloods before.” I thought all vamps were called purebloods. “Don’t worry we would sound the alarm if they made it through our pack and near yours. Half-bloods, yes. They were once humans and were turned by a pureblood. It's why we call them purebloods; they were born vampires. In a clan there will only be a small minority of purebloods the rest have been made over the centuries called half-bloods.” I never knew that, but it made sense as to why we called them purebloods. I had no idea that the vampires had the ability to make more of their kind using humans. No wonder the humans hated them more than the werewolves. “Wow. Learn something new every day.” Cam looked at me with a serious expression. “As future Alpha, Michael, I give you some advice. Know your species. Not just werewolves, but all of them. We all have secrets. Vamps, humans and witches are no different.” He sipped his drink. “And the dragons and sirens.” Cam laughed at my add ons. “There hasn’t been a dragon for a thousand years and I'm pretty sure there has never been a siren, think they just a myth, handsome.” I looked at Cam confused. Then realised Tom had told me all about Sirens. The bastard. I was naive enough to believe him as we didn’t know enough within our pack about the other species. I just simply thought we didn’t even bother with the sirens in school. “As future Alpha, Michael, I give you some advice. Know your species. Not just werewolves, but all of them. We all have secrets. Vamps, humans and witches are no different.” “I’m going to kick his ass when he gets here.” I scowled at my beer. “Who, handsome.” I rolled my eyes. “Stop saying that in here. My friend who made me believe Sirens were real, when they were more like the tooth fairy.” Cam laughed again, louder than the last. “You look so pretty when you're angry.” He placed his hand on my thigh. I looked at him with wide eyes pushing his hand away. “First of all you can’t call a man pretty. Secondly stop touching me and calling me by pet names in public.” Cams lips curled into an evil yet seductive grin. “Oh I should wait until I get you in private to call you by your pet name. That I can do.” The stupid beast actually winked at me. I rolled my eyes. “Enough questions for today.” I had already made a fool of myself and I was pretty sure the twins as well as their father were listening in to our conversation. “Fine. I have to go anyway. I can’t wait to hear from you Michael. I look forward to our next conversation.” Cam stood, Lewis left without even looking at me, Cam stopped right behind me and I could feel his lips just hovering by my ear. “oh. The next time you roll your eyes at me I’ll bend you over my knee and spank you for being a bad little future Alpha.” I almost choked on my beer when he licked my ear then walked out. I just watched them leave in the corner of my eye, just as I was about to sigh in relief Cam turned. “See you later, handsome.” The silly beast winked at me again, in front of the whole bar. “Ha! Looks like you have an Alpha stalker on your hands, butty.” One of the twins giggled to himself after watching the whole thing. “NICO!! Damn you, boy. Keep you lip shut.” Nico looked like he had just been slapped in his face. “Pops. No need for that. I was just joking with Mikey here.” Nico carried on wiping the glass in his hand with a red cloth. “You know I was only pulling your leg right? I happen to think you can do much better than that tool. You seem alright for a pack wolf.” “NICHOLAS!!!” with that Nico jumped over the bar and headed for the door. Justin on his tail. It would have been comical if I wasn't so embarrassed. Lip laughed beside me. “Sorry about my brother. He doesn’t have a filter when we're in the bar. Hell don’t think he has a filter at all come to think about it.” Nate cleared Cams and Lewis bottles and our empties, wiping down the bar top. Nate looked broodier than Nico. Like something was troubling him and he was warning it off. A constant scowl on his face. “Don’t take offence.” I couldn’t help look at his scar. I wondered what happened to him. “Just be cautious of Alpha Cameron. There’s something off about him.” I scoffed at the rogue. “Ain't you lot cautious about any wolf. You rogues think there’s something off with everyone. It's in your nature. Surprised you opened a bar to be honest.” I downed my drink. “Wasn’t always a rogue dude. Don’t judge a book by the person that hands it to you. Try it out, form your own opinion. Not all rogues think packs are out to get them, or maniacs just like you pack wolves think. We've just lived in the real world outside the safety of a pack. Yeah okay. Some Rogues are crazy...” he shrugged his shoulders, “, but some packs wolves are crazier.” I digested his words. He was right. As I was about to apologise.... “Isn’t it- don’t judge a book by its cover.” Lip chipped in. Me and Nate staring at him. Out of the whole conversation, that's what he picked up. Nate chuckled at my brother, shaking his head. “Probably right, man.” He turned back to me. “Just....be careful dude.” Nate didn’t say anymore after that and carried in with his bar work. After half an hour I called Nate over. “Yeah. Look sorry. What I said. You right. I shouldn't judge you.” “Nah. All forgiven. Come to the bar anytime. We may be a bit rough around the edges, but we just wolves who want an easy life and to have some fun.” I nodded. “Do you own one of the bikes outside?” I was genuinely interested. “Hell yeah I do. We're an MC. No point being in a MC if I don’t have one.” He laughed. “Oh right. You guys call us a pack. Suppose we are one. An ugly pack if it’s based on Fagin over there.” He pointed his head over to the far end of the bar past the pool tables. “Oi. You twiny little fucker. I'm absolutely beaut.... *hiccup*....iful.” The guy who answered had a bottled of rum in his hand and was practically dribbling, his eyes hooded in a drunken stupor. I burst out laughing, covering my mouth trying not to offend the man. Echoes of deep laughs came from the rest of the bar. “Of course you are sweet cheeks. Do you need a bib for that drool or should I just get you the mop?” Nate continued to tease him. “I'll come over there....and knock you out now.” He slurred back. “Yeah. Right Fagin. You couldn’t knock over a paper bag over.” Someone else shouted out in the bar. Fuck you and your paper bag.” Fagin half shouted and half burped back. He tried to stand up only to stumble back down. “Give you frigging paper bag. Fatty.” He tried to stand again. “Alright. Alright Fagin. Don’t s**t yourself for trying too hard, I ain't cleaning that up. Or I'll get Nonny down here.” Fagin tensed and held up his hand with a stop gesture, flopping down in his seat. “I'll behave and pass me the damn mop.” The whole bar laughed. They were like one big happy family. “Nonny is his wife.” Nate confirmed. Me and lip finished our beers. Nico and Justin had yet to return. I shook Nate’s hand and we left. We stepped out into the fresh night air, Lip grumbling about returning for his ass whooping over a cookie. I didn’t listen, instead I picked up on the most delicious sent of fresh bread. It was slightly faded, but my wolf howled in hunger to follow the scent. I strolled to my car and the scent was stronger. I looked around, no one in sight, no bakeries or café either. I shrugged my shoulders and jumped in my car. “What was that all about? Didn’t dad tell you to stay away from Cameron?” Lip had his head on the car window looking up at the sky. “I didn’t know he was going to be there.” I couldn’t stop thinking about him and the porno man, that guy had a great ass. “You didn’t have to flirt with him.” Me and Lip hadn’t really talked about me coming out. It was like he just accepted it and carried on as normal. I loved him for that. “I wasn’t flirting.” I looked at him stunned. “I wasn’t!!” “Yeah yeah. Totally was.” I rolled my eyes at him, again. “if you sneak off don’t come to me for an alibi, I’m already in enough trouble, I’ll have to void the kitchen for a few days.” I laughed at my brother. “Worth it, though.” We entered the main pack house where wolves were scattered throughout. We tried to scent out Mags, but there was no use, there were too many pack members. Then out of nowhere, I notice a black shoe flying towards my direction. I ducked in time, but my brother was too slow and the shoe makes its target on his face. The wolves, including myself, in the vicinity laugh until we hear Mags. “There will be no cookies for you, young man, for a month.” Lip almost cries. “, but Mags….” Lip whined. “No, buts, that’s my final word you greedy gremlin.” She walks off out the main house, heading home and I’m damn happy I’m not getting punished. “Hey what about Mikey.” I growl at him. “Two months now Lip for being a tell-tale.” I laugh and head up to my room as Lip storms off to his. As soon as I locked my door, I jumped onto my bed. I love my bed, the blue cotton sheets smell like jasmine and I sink into my mattress like it’s a fluffy cloud, damn I could stay in bed forever. My room is the biggest in the house on the top floor, it has a huge king size bed with a plasma TV that comes out of the bottom for when I want to watch films in bed. I have a large walk in closet and a bathroom, but what makes my room especially big is that there is an arch way where you step down into my very own lounge with comfy couches, my games consoles and two pinball machines. There is a desk over in the far corner with my laptop and a stack of papers that I know I have to deal with at some point, but not today. I pull out my mobile and Alpha Cameron’s card falls out. I’m in two minds to text him as I roll the card in my fingers. May we could hang out, make our pack relations better. I add his contact number in my cell, then have cold feet when I pull up a blanks screen to message him. What if he’s just messing about? What if he’s playing with my feelings because I’m future Alpha? I click my address book and pull up Toms number. “Michael, you miss me? What’s up, butty, can’t talk for long, I’m also going to be later than I expected for your birthday.” I’m pretty sure that Tom could have a full blown conversation with someone while the other person wouldn’t utter a word and he would not even notice. “I need some advice.” I can hear him tell someone that he’ll follow them in a minute, to go on up. “Are you with a girl, do you need me to call back?” “No man, well yes, I’m with a girl, but it’s not what you think. Anyway have you finally come to your senses and want some fashion advice.” “Pffft from you? No. thanks.” Tom laughs, out of two of us I am trendier, but Tom can get away with wearing anything. “Need dating advice, well possible dating advice.” “YES!!! I am your man, hit me with it.” I roll my eyes at the ceiling, flicking the business card. “Another Alpha from a pack nearby has given me his number, don’t know whether to make contact, can’t figure out if he has an ulterior motive, he’s fit and my mouth waters thinking of him, didn’t think anyone like him would be interested in me.” “Hmmm. Wait, stop with the low self-esteem s**t. You’re an Alpha and a catch with them eyes. I have seen people checking you out constantly that guy will be lucky to have you, but Yeah I can see the issue, dating other Alphas can get messy.” I know I’m blushing at Toms compliment. He pauses and I’m hoping for a ‘, but’ and he didn’t disappoint. “ but every relationship is, seriously, go for it, just lay down some ground rules and don’t let him push you about.” That’s all I needed, was someone to say those words and as soon as Tom put the phone down I texted the sexy Alpha. Me: Hey. It’s Michael of the Red Moon Pack. Cam: Hello Michael of the Red Moon Pack, I’m so happy you messaged. Would you like to meet me for diner? I raised my eyebrow, this guy doesn’t waist anytime. May be I should let him sweat for a few hours for teasing my opening text, I didn’t miss that. Me: yeah sure. When? Where? Well, I was too excited to wait. Cam: Tomorrow. 7pm. Pepe’s. I try to thing, that's in the human town, closer to his border. Well it won't hurt being there, I'll tell Lip just in case. Me: see you then. Cam: Can’t wait, handsome. Guess I have a date with a sexy Alpha.
