CH 1: PARTLY MY FAULT.
Driving my range-rover under the veil of the night, I feel my blood racing anxiously underneath my skin as I violently make one last left turn before hurriedly stepping on the brakes. Never in my twenty-four years of living have I been this anxious. I don't even bother with turning off my jeep as I immediately open the door before stepping outside. Its a familiar spot.. my sister's villa. Under the grey of the night, my sister's villa looks just like any other overpriced mansion with a massive compound. Trimmed grass with stony pathways, a massive swimming pool at one side of the massive yard and a three storey structure that holds a glimpse at architectural marvel. Standing by the side of my car's door, I look around as i catch a beautiful yet disturbing visual in the pool. The crescent moon reflect like a mirage on the surface of the pool and in that water a person with missing limbs can be seen floating lifelessly with his face in the water. My breath seize for a second though I soon regain a bit of my bearing as I catch the length of the corspe wet hair. 'Its not her.', My restless wolf says to me in my mind as I immediately begin to walk towards the mansion with my heels resounding heavily on the stony walkways. It is not the brightest night though my night vision helps out as I tak in different images that serves as evidence of a recent chaotic battle. A completely destroyed window, bloodstains, claw marks and crushed grasses in the yard. Slightly nervous about everything my eyes falls on I take a subconscious sniff.. bad idea!. The metallic smell of blood assaults my nostrils while doubling my almost crippling anxiety as I get to the mansion's main door with my hand trembling slightly. The metal door has been shattered free from its hinges and is now lying freely on the floor though I pay this no attention as I immediately walk in while looking around. The lights inside are off but a shattered window that lets in moonlight plus night vision makes seeing manageable as I look around anxiously. Everything has been turned upside down. The couches has been torn apart, the tiles on the floor have been cracked with red splattered disturbingly over the walls and floor. Although these traces of violence are everywhere, they do not manage to seize my attention as I look around for people. There are a total of seven persons scattered chaotically across the spacious floor and all of them are dead in ways I would rather not keep in mind. Despite this terrible reality I cannot stop myself from sighing in relieve because none of the bodies are hers. I don't smell her blood in the air so that confirms that she truly wasn't present when the bloodsuckers attacked. Finally confirming my sister's safety, the other emotions I'm feeling finally comes to the surface. I swallow a heavy growl from my she-wolf as my eyes narrows with cold rage. 'Those bats really don't hold back.', I grumble internally. Rita(My sister) is safe but I cannot imagine just how devastated she would be when she finds out that her entire squad got wiped out in her absence. I lick my lips as I know just how bad this is for my sister who has already been through enough. I'm happy she wasn't present at the time of the attack though I know that my sister would rather fight to death alongside her squad than end up being the only survivor. Sighing softly, my wolf suddenly tenses up in me as my ears pick up two rapid incomings from two different directions. A group of vehicles, three jeeps if I'm correct are heading towards the mansion with traffic bending speed and from the other direction, someone is running on fours towards the mansion with desperation driven superhuman speed. Rita!. 'She would be sooo..', My wolf whimpers sadly while failing to find words to describe how my sister would be feeling right now. I close my eyes for a second as I make a quick decision and without hesitation I reach into my jacket and hold on to a syringe within my pocket. Just as I have predicted, glass shatters from a window seconds later as my sister jumps inside with a blurred speed before coming to a violent halt in the middle of the room. *Pant!.. *Pant!.. I can hear her pants and I almost suffocate from the fury and grief in every breath as her eyes trails corpse after corpse. Trembling silently, Rita finally turns to face me with saliva bubbling in her mouth. Slowly, she approaches me and I swallow softly knowing just how deeply this event has struck her. "Tell me who is responsible.", Rita calmly demands without a shred of emotion in her voice. Hearing her plain tone, my heart chills as I understand what has just happened. When we wolves feel too much, we feel nothing. It is a psychological self defence mode for us and at the same time it brings about a very dangerous mind frame. "We have a lot of enemies.", I respond to my sister whose eyes immediately turn midnight black as her wolf takes control. "Don't bullshit me Violet, you are the right hand of the intern alpha so just give me a name!.", Rogue(Rita's wolf) growls at me with a deep voice as Rita steps closer to me while I clench my fist around the syringe in my pocket. With Rita allowing her wolf to come out in full rage, I know that if I so much as whisper a clue in the direction of those responsible then Rita's already negligible self control would burn. Rita would immediately shift and storm out of here with her mind set on a suicidal hunting trip!. With my sister's face in front of mine, my left hand flashes to her neck as I press down on the syringe in my hand a second later. "I'm sorry.", I whisper an apology as the content of the syringe floods into Rita's veins. I watch as Rita's eyes widens in shock for a second but the next second, she slumps down into unconsciousness as I hold her body against mine while fighting back my own emotions. I have only seen Rita like this once before and it was when we lost our parents. Holding my sister in my hands, I vow to bleed those people responsible to death even if it's the last thing I do though if I'm being completely honest with myself, the attack by the bloodsuckers on my sister's squad is partly my fault.
