Hidden Feelings
Mason
All week after he was better, and back to his normal self, Mason was able to get back to work. He could not get Hannah off his mind. He was worried about her.
And Mimi. He cared a great deal for them both. He had not saw the ghost of her husband return to him yet. Mason was hoping to come in contact with the spirit to try to get some unanswered questions about Paul.
Mason told Nathan to keep a close watch on Paul over at the Inn. Mason was not to thrilled that Nathan and Hannah were getting awfully chummy working together so closely.
Mason kept thinking of the hot kiss he shared with Hannah. He knew she was still getting over her former husband. He did not want to rush things for her. But he was wanting to find out where he stood with everything.
Maybe he should come visit her and see how she was doing?
After Mason got out of work he made his way over to Hannah's place. Did he want to ask her on a date? He sure did.
But he did not think the time was right. Maybe after they caught Carlos killer. Then the time would be perfect. She might be ready to move on with him.
He liked Hannah because she accepted him for who he was. She was not horrified by him. Not many girls like her came along his path. He did not want to lose Hannah. He knocked on the door. To his surprise Mrs. Tolsen answered the door.

"Hi there Mason! How can I help you?" she asks him.
"Where is Hannah?" he wonders.
"Mommy is on a date!" giggles Mimi. Mimi smiles over at him as she walks over beside Mrs. Tolsen.
"Hannah is on a date? With who? Paul?" wonders a worried Mason. Mimi shakes her head no.
"With Nathan. Your brother" she replies. Mason feels like someone sucker punched him about now.
His little brother snaked him out of a great girl. Maybe Hannah was ready to move on. He was to slow to figure it out.
"Mason are you alright?" worries Mrs. Tolsen.
"Me?! I am fine. I was just surprised is all. When did this happen?" wonders Mason curiously.
"Well Nathan has had his eyes on Hannah since she came to work for me. They have been such good friends. And she looked out for you just as Nathan asked her to. So he wanted to thank her for that. He asked her out oh yesterday" says Mrs. Tolsen. Dirty, rotten, sneaky little brothers....
"Want to stay? We are going to have a tea party" offers Mimi.

No way did he want to stick around and see how the little date with Nathan and Hannah.
"No thank you. Have a fun night" mutters Mason. He sighs. He heads back home. Feeling down hearted.
If he thought that Hannah was ready to move on he would have been the one to ask her out. He was so nervous to move on since losing the love of his life. He was so lonely.
He had not been so lonely with Hannah and Mimi around. Hannah's beautiful smile flashed in his mind. Of her taking care of him. Of her leaning in kissing him. She must have just pitied him was all. That was it. Maybe she liked his little brother all along. That was it!
Mason sighs as he tries to keep his mind off the date. He wondered where Nathan took Hannah at? Was she having a good time? Did he kiss her tonight? These thoughts were torturing him inside. He turns off the tv. Heads back over to Hannah's home. He knocks on the door.
"Howdy Mason! What can we do for you?" asks Mrs. Tolsen. She had on apron as she opens the door. The scent of sweet cookies drift past his nose.
"I come for tea if you will still have me that is" he replies.
"Oh sure. Come on in" says Mrs. Tolsen.
"Hi! I am glad you came! Come sit!" Mimi giggles as she takes him by the arm.

She leads him over to the table where loads of Mimi's stuffed animals were seated at the table. Maybe this was not such a good idea. Werewolves' did not have tea parties....
"Have a seat" giggles Mimi as she sits him next to her Raggedy Ann doll.
"We made three kinds of cookies. What is your pleasure?" asks Mrs. Tolsen. "There is peanut butter. There is the classic sugar cookie. And oatmeal raisin" remarks Mrs. Tolsen.
"Oh I will take sugar cookie is fine" says Mason.
Mimi pours him a glass of hot tea. Mrs. Tolsen fawns over him getting him all three kinds of cookies instead of the one he asked for.
"Looks good" says Mason as Mimi sits in front of him.
"Eat one! Try it!" says a happy Mimi. Mason nods.
"Mrs. Dangerous loves cookies" says Mimi as she pretends to feed a cookie to a dolly.
"Is that so?" asks Mason. He nibbles at his cookie.
"How long ago did my brother take Hannah out?" wonders Mason.
"Oh about an hour ago" remarks Mrs. Tolsen.
"When do you think they will be back?" wonders Mason.
"Not sure. I think they are heading out to the movies. And dinner" says Mrs. Tolsen.
"Oh" replies Mason.

It was going to be one long night. He found himself playing old maid card game and a hearty go fish with Mrs. Tolsen and Mimi. Mrs. Tolsen's phone rang.
"Harold can't you do it? I am babysitting" grumbles Mrs. Tolsen on the phone.
"So what is your favorite kind of cookie?" Mason asks Mimi while Mrs. Tolsen was on the phone.
"Oh I love all kinds of cookies" giggles Mimi. "I love girl scout cookies the best"
"Good choice" says Mason.
"Harold...oh you are impossible. Let me call you back" mutters Mrs. Tolsen as she hangs up the phone.
"Something wrong?" asks Mason.
"Harold could not find his own butt in the dark" mutters Mrs. Tolsen angrily.
"I could stay with Mimi. I don't mind if you need to go help him" offers Mason.
"You are a life saver doll" sighs Mrs. Tolsen. She hugs him.
"Thank you" she replies as she heads out the door.
"Looks like it is you and me kid" Mason tells Mimi.
"I have to get ready for bed" mentions Mimi.
"Alright" says Mason. Mimi heads in her bedroom to get ready for bed.
Mason begins to put away toys. Cleans the kitchen up. Puts the cookies in the cookie jar.
"I am ready for bed" calls out Mimi cheerfully as she comes in the room. A happy smile was on her face.
"Well did you brush your teeth?" wonders Mason. Mimi makes a face at him.
"You too? You sound like my mom" sighs Mimi.
"Well good" laughs Mason.
"I will brush my teeth. Then if I do will you read me a story before bed?" wonders Mimi. Mason nods.
"Sure will" he vows. Mimi grins happily. She rushes in the bathroom to get ready for bed. He could handle this dad stuff. Like a pro!
"Can you read me this one?" begs Mimi. She hands him a book. Alice In Wonderland. Classic.
"Sure can" he replies. He follows her to her bedroom. Helps her in bed. Tucks her in. He sits beside her. Begins to read to her.
"That is my favorite book" yawns Mimi as he heads into chapter two soon.
"Night Mimi. Sweet dreams" Mason tells her as he smiles at her. She sits up in bed. She pulls him close for a hug.
"Love you Mr. Mason" she yawns. He kisses her forehead.
"Love you to Mimi" he vows. He heads out of her room after turning off the lights.
Like a pro...
"Then when the car crashes...that made me laugh!" he hears Hannah giggle in the doorway.
"I love a good action flick" Nathan was chuckling. They come in the home. Hannah looks surprised to see Mason there in her home.
"Something wrong? Where is Mrs. Tolsen?" worries Hannah.
"Oh she had to head home. I stayed with Mimi" remarks Mason.
"Let me pay you then. Thank you so much" Hannah says as she gets money out of her purse.
"No need for that" he tells her. "I enjoyed being with Mimi. We had a nice time"
"Are you sure?" worries Hannah. He nods. He goes to leave.
"Thank you Mason" Hannah tells him.
"You are welcome" remarks Mason. Nathan meets him outside.
"Brother wait" calls out Nathan.
"What?" sighs Mason.
"Thanks for watching Mimi" Nathan tells him.
"No worries" says Mason.
"Is that it? I thought you would put up more of a fight" sighs Nathan.
"She picked who she wants. It is not up to me now is it?" remarks Mason before heading back to his home for the night. Feeling very defeated.
