Wonders
Hannah
Hannah was a bit miffed on why she had not been hearing back from Mason since she took care of him. It kind of hurt. She had been asked out by Nathan. But she had been expecting to be asked out by Mason. Even since that steamy kiss they shared together, she thought they had a deeper connection with each other.
But maybe she was wrong about Mason. Maybe he did not care for her like she had thought. Maybe she should forget him.
Move on with Nathan. After all Nathan was a sweet and sexy man. She cared for him as well. She had fun with Nathan. But he was not Mason. It was not the same.

"Hannah?" someone says her name there at work. Paul. He had his bags all packed up.
"Hey Paul. I am sorry I have not had much time with you. Ever since Mason was shot! I am so sorry" Hannah tells Paul.
"No don't be sorry. This is not good-bye. You have a buyer on your home back well...home. So I am going to close the deal on it for you. Are you sure you want to sell your home? You can always move back. We all miss you there" mentions Paul.
"No I need to be here. I actually like it here" Hannah promises him.
"You do?" he chuckles. "Here where it is snowy nearly all year long?"
"You know I really do not mind that" Hannah explains.
"Keep in touch with me okay? Call me once in awhile" Paul demands as he comes over to hug her.
"One thing I want to know Paul" Hannah replies as he hugs her.
"What is that?" asks Paul.
"Why did you not tell anyone else that you came to see Carlos the night he was shot?" wonders Hannah.

She could not stop thinking about what Mimi had told them the other night. Paul looks surprised by her little outburst.
"I did not think it was relevant to the case. I mean sure I stopped by to see him. He was my brother. Is that a crime?" chuckles Paul.
"No, it is not a crime. But why did you tell Mimi not to tell the cops that she saw you that night?" wonders Hannah.
"Listen, you know the cops take things way to far. They would start grilling me. There is not a reason for them to grill me. I did nothing wrong! I did not want to get in the middle of the whole ordeal of it all" Paul protests. He looked a little nervous to her.
"I see" says Hannah.
"I have to be going" sighs Paul.
"One last thing" Hannah demands to know.
"What is that?" he asks.
"How exactly did you know where to find me here? I never told you where I was located at" mentions Hannah.
"I have a confession" he sighs. "I bugged your phone before you left. I was worried...about you and Mimi. After all a killer got to my brother. Who is to say he or...she will not get to you both? You would not contact me. I left the tracking to the last minute. I wanted you to tell me for yourself" he rambles on.
"You bugged my phone?" she stammers. He nods.
"I had all the papers and account information back when you left me in charge of selling your home" he explains.
"I suppose that makes sense" sighs Hannah. "But do not do it again Paul. Or the cops might get you into this mess. It makes you look bad"
"I know it does. I am sorry about it. All of it. I will be back as soon as I can. Okay?" he promises her. He kisses her cheek before heading out in the door.
"What are you up to Paul?" Hannah wonders to herself out loud before going back to work.

She logs in on her computer. She goes through a new phone service. Orders a new phone. When it came in the mail she planned on losing the old phone that Paul had tracked. It made her very uncomfortable that he was able to track her so easily.
"Hannah?" someone replies breaking her train of thoughts.
"Hey!" Hannah says when she sees it was Nathan standing before her.
"Did Paul leave?" wonders Nathan. Hannah nods.
"Yes he did. He is making a sell on my old home back in Florida" Hannah explains.
"Oh you left that up to Paul? Is that such a good idea?" asks Nathan.
"Paul helped us buy that home when I first married Carlos. Paul is an investor. A good one" Hannah promises Nathan.
"I don't know why but ever since he accidentally shot my brother I really do not trust that man" worries Nathan.
"He is harmless" Hannah tries to convince Nathan. He was not buying it.
"I had a really fun time on our date the other night" Nathan tells her as he leans on her desk smiling.
"You know I did to. I just was surprised you asked me out" laughs Hannah.
"Why were you surprised by that?" he asks her.
"Well I thought Mason would have asked me first is all" Hannah admits. "I thought we kind of had a connection. But I was wrong I suppose"
"Mason has a dark side. And a very good side. He a complicated man. He had a rough past" Nathan tries to explain. "Not many can get close to Mason"
"I thought we were getting closer. But I was wrong" sighs Hannah.
"No worries. He is your friend" promises Nathan.
He smiles.

"So, what are you up to? Are you off work now?" asks Hannah. Nathan nods.
"Sure am. I was wondering would you like to perhaps go on another date sometime?" he wonders hopefully.
"I would like that yes" says Hannah. Nathan smiles.
"You are the first girl I have dated that knows who...or what I am. That kind of excites me" he chuckles making her blush.
"Mommy! I made something for Uncle Paul! Where is he?" Mimi calls out as she rushes in. She was off school for the day. She hands her mother a drawing.
"Uncle Paul went back home sweetie. I am sorry" says Hannah. Mimi looks upset about Paul's departure.
"Why did he have to go?" sighs Mimi.
"He said he would be back. He had to go sell our home" says Hannah.
"I hope he comes back soon. I miss him. He looks just like daddy huh?" Mimi asks Hannah as she hugs her mother.
"He sure does. Is that why you're suddenly attached to your uncle?" asks Hannah. "Cause he reminds you of daddy?"
"Yes" says Mimi. Nathan smiles sadly at Hannah.
"Well he sure loves you. He will love that drawing" Nathan promises Mimi.
"Can we go home?" asks Mimi.
"Let me log out. And tell Mrs. Tolsen. I made soup for her tenants for dinner" remarks Hannah.
She wanders into the kitchen to find Mrs. Tolsen.

"Hi kids" Mrs. Tolsen says as she tastes the soup that Hannah made.
"We are heading home for the day, is there anything more you need from me?" Hannah asks her.
"No I am good. You made far too much soup. But it is so good. Want to take some home for dinner?" Mrs. Tolsen offers to Hannah and Nathan.
"Sure" says Nathan.
"Is it chicken noodle?" wonders Mimi curiously.
"Chicken and dumplings" says Hannah.
"Even better. I wondered what smelled heavily today" remarks Nathan.
Hannah got them each a little to go bowl of soup.
"Here take one more to Mason" Mrs. Tolsen says as she hands Hannah one more. "Mind dropping it off for him?"
"No I do not mind at all. I am sure he would enjoy it" agrees Hannah.
Dropping the soup by for Mrs. Tolsen would give her a perfect excuse to drop into to see how Mason was doing. And maybe find out why he was pushing her out of his life.
