Little Brothers
Mason
Mason was busy shoveling the walk way. He soon spots Hannah coming along in her truck.
Much to his dismay he spots his brother's car coming along right after her. What was going on now? Was Nathan weaseling his way into her life already?
Mason was not going to go for that! Nathan needed to back off. Sure enough Nathan's beat up car did not park over in Mason's drive way.
It parked right behind Hannah. In her yard. Mason walked over to see what was going on. Whatever was going on he was going to put an end to it.
Quickly.

"Hey bro!" Nathan greets him as he waves over at Mason when Nathan got out of the car.
"Don't hey me" Mason grumbles.
"What is the problem?" Nathan demands to know.
"I warned you to stay away from her. I meant it" Mason whispers under his breath.
"Look she helped me out. I am over to make her and Mimi dinner is all. Nothing more is going on. Just dinner" he promises Nathan.
"That better be it. You had better be home before midnight" warns Mason.
"I will bro" Nathan vows.
"Hey Mason!" greets Hannah as she walks over to them.
"Hi" Mason says as he brightens up seeing her smile his way.
"Nathan is making dinner. Want to join us? The more the merrier" offers Hannah cheerfully. Nathan was standing behind her making a "Don't you dare" look on his face.
"Sure that sounds great. So brother of mine what are you making?" he asks Nathan as they all head on into Hannah's place.
"Sorry it is messy still. I promise you one time when you come over to see me it will all be spotless. Kind of" laughs Hannah as she lets them come inside.
"Homey" jokes Nathan as they move around the boxes. Nathan sets down a bag of food he bought at the store.
"What are you making for dinner? Hungry Man meals don't count!" jokes Mason. He chuckles. Nathan rolls his eyes.
"I am making something simple everyone will love" he promises them.

"What is it?" Mimi begs to know as she helps Nathan take the food out of the bags.
"Spaghetti? Does it sound good?" asks Nathan.
"YES! I love it it" Mimi exclaims joyfully as she bounces around with energy.
"Don't you have math homework to do?" warns Hannah.
"Yes Mom" sighs Mimi.
"Dinner will be done soon. Go do your homework. No dvd's until homework's is done" she warns Mimi.
"Yes MOM" Mimi grumbles as she makes her way to her room with her school back pack.
"Work and kids then more work work work" sighs Hannah.
"Need help un-packing?" offers Mason while his brother begins to cook.
"No that is alright. If I don't do it myself I will never find a thing around here" laughs Hannah.
"I see" Mason says as he smiles.
"Have a seat. Want a drink? I don't have any beer" she says.
"No that is fine. Water or juice" he says.
"Pink lemonade" she tells him.
"Sure" he laughs.

She gets him a glass. Pours the drink.
"Thanks" he says once she hands it over.
"How was your first day at work?" he asks her as he sips his drink.
"You remember! Hey it was great. I fixed the furnace when your brother could not get it" she laughs.
"That does not surprise me" jokes Mason.
"Hey" Nathan laughs.
"Mrs. Tolsen took a liking to Mimi" brags Hannah.
"Really? Since her son left town she has been a sour puss as one says" Mason warns.
"She likes Mimi. She offered free piano lessons" Hannah explains as she joins him at the table.
"Mom! I need help! This is subtraction!" Mimi calls out.
"Not now you need to do it or you will never learn" warns Hannah.
"I can help" offers Mason.
"No really!" Hannah sighs.

Mason looks over the math work. He grabs a few noodles from Nathan. He splashes them on the table.
"How many do we have here?" Mason asks Mimi.
"Five" she says.
"If I take away two how many does that leave you with?" he asks her.
She looks down as though she is mentally counting in her mind.
"Three! It is counting backwards" Mimi exclaims.
"Exactly what it is" Mason promises her.
"I got it. Easy" Mimi says as she takes her workbook back to her room to finish her work.
"Thanks for that" sighs Hannah.
"No problem" says Mason.
"So brother I have a question for you" pipes up Nathan.
"Yes little brother?" asks Mason.
"Why did you tell Hannah here that the names of your wolf pets were Dummy or what was it Hannah?" asks Nathan.
"Reckless!" Hannah pipes up.
His brother gives him the evil eye.

"Well you know it is true. My wolf was always a bit more responsible than yours. Always comes when called. Did what was right. Yours was reckless" chuckles Mason.
"He was not" Nathan grumbles.
"You both raised the wolves?" wonders Hannah.
"Kind of" says Nathan.
"It took Dummy a long time before he was potty trained" jokes Mason.
Nathan glares over at his brother. If looks could kill....
The oven dinged.

"What are you baking?" wonders Hannah.
"Garlic bread" Nathan replies.
"Good. Mimi loves it" Hannah says.
"Me to" says Mason.
"Not me. It can kill a romantic mood" Nathan replies. He cooks dinner up for them. He splatters some sauce on his shirt.
"Oh dear! Let me help you clean that or it will stain" worries Hannah. "Take it off. Let me clean it quick. I will give it right back. I promise" she vows.
"Alright. If you want me to" laughs Nathan looking pleased Hannah wanted him to take off his shirt. He lifts it off over his head, the hands it to Hannah. Hannah's blue eyes were wide eyed to admire his little brother muscular body.
"Be right back" stammers Hannah.
"Nice trick there little brother" grumbles Mason.
"Mason 0, Nathan 2" he chuckles. Mason sighs. It was sure going to be one long night ahead.
