Dinner Dates Hannah "Mom what are we going to have for dinner?" wonders a curious Mimi as Hannah tried to rush around getting ready for the nice little dinner date they were about to have that night. "I don't know sweetie. I did not ask Mason what he was planning on making" sighs Hannah as she tries to find her perfume. Most of her things were still pretty much packed up. She felt like she was camping out. "Mom how many people are going to be at the party? Will there be any kids there?" wonders Mimi curiously. "I don't know sweetie" sighs Hannah. "Get your shoes on" "No my boots. I get snow in my shoes" mumbles Mimi. "Fine get your boots on" sighs Hannah. It was going to be a long night. She only hoped that Mimi would be showing her best manners at Mason's party. Hannah was also curious to find out whom was going to be at the party as well. "I am ready mom! Come on and let's go!" demands Mimi. "Your mother is NOT ready to go so you will wait little lady" Hannah calls back to her daughter. Mimi sighed as she sit back down on the couch. She grabbed Hannah's phone to play Candy Crush on it. "Hi uncle Paul! No we are okay. Mom moved here for a new job. I am good. How are you?" asks Mimi when Hannah did not hear the phone ring. Hannah froze. Her friend told her not to take calls from home. Even from family. "Mimi give me the phone right now!" demands Hannah sternly to Mimi as she rushes in the living room. She holds her hand out to Mimi for the phone. "But mom! It is uncle Paul! Let me talk! I miss him!" whines Mimi. "Give me the phone! NOW!" demands Hannah sternly. "Fine!" snaps Mimi. "I hate it here" she snaps at Hannah. She throws the phone on the couch and rushes to her room. She slams the bedroom door making Hannah cringe. Hannah grabs her cell phone. "Paul?" Hannah answers. ♥☆♥☆♥  "At last you answer my calls. God, Hannah how are you all? I did not know you were moving out any place" he demands angrily. "I am sorry Paul. I had to. We are kind of keeping things on the down low. This phone is bugged. I better get off it" she says softly. She was not sure if her phone was being tracked but it might be. "Damn Hannah. Where are you guys at? I really want to make sure you and Mimi have everything you need" he says to her. "Look I can't tell anyone where I am right now. I am sorry. I will as soon as I can" she vows. "Not even tell your brother-in-law? Come on now Hannah" he grumbles. "Paul I have to keep her safe. No matter what it takes" Hannah snaps. "I am sorry. I am so worried. I was since Mimi said that she saw the killer before he attacked" says Paul. "Well they think she saw him. She gave a description. Said it was a man" says Hannah. "Damn. I hope they catch him soon" says Paul. "Me to. Look, I have to go okay? I am risking things here" she says to Paul in a rush. She wished he could come out and protect them. She would feel better having Carlos brother with them. ♥☆♥☆♥ "I understand. Please call me when you can?" he begs her. "I will. You will be the first one I call" she vows. They hang up. Her nerves feel a little rattled after the call from home. She went into Mimi's room. She felt so badly about yelling at her daughter like she had. "Mimi?" says Hannah softly. "Go away" sniffs Mimi. "Look I am sorry for snapping at you. They told me not to take phone calls from home baby. I am trying to keep you safe. You were the one who told them you saw some one that night. They might come after us" worries Hannah. "Do you think they will try to kill me like they killed daddy? I did not see their face. Just their back. They were snooping in the yard that night. They knocked over the trash can" Mimi reminds her of the horrid night that killed her husband. "Should I have not told the police what I saw?" worries Mimi. Hannah holds her close. "No sweetie. You did the right thing. I am so sorry you saw your daddy that way" sniffs Hannah as she holds Mimi while she cries. "I miss Uncle Paul. Can he come live with us?" begs Mimi. "No honey" sighs Hannah. "But he would keep us safe" begs Mimi. "Maybe so. But we have to not tell anyone where we are right now" Hannah demands. "Understood?" "Yes mom" sighs Mimi. Hannah hands her a tissue to blow her nose on. "Come on we have a dinner party waiting just for us!" Hannah says cheerfully. She helps Mimi off the bed. They get their coats on. Then head on over to Mason's home. She soon spots Mrs. Tolsen's old beat up station wagon was in the drive way. "Mrs. Tolsen is here!" exclaims a happy Mimi. ♥☆♥☆♥  She rushes to the front door of Mason's little cottage. Hannah noticed the large whole in the door was fixed. Pretty much. She wondered if Fearless had done that to the front door. Hannah looked around to see if she spotted her furry little friend yet. No sign of him. She knocks on the door. "Welcome come on in ladies!" Mason greets them cheerfully at the door when he opens it. She sees that Nathan was setting the table already. The place smelled good. It was a lot cleaner then the last time she had been there. "Thanks for having us over" says Hannah as Mason takes her coat from her. "Thank you for coming. I thought this would give us all a chance to get to know each other" Mason mentions. "Good thinking" agrees Hannah. "Mrs. Tolsen!" Mimi says as she rushes at her new friend. Mrs. Tolsen laughs as Mimi hugs her tight. "How are things cutie?" Mrs. Tolsen asks her. "Good! Uncle Paul called me today" says Mimi. "Uncle Paul? I don't know him" laughs Mrs. Tolsen. "He was my daddy's brother. We love Uncle Paul. I miss him a lot" Mimi explains as Mrs. Tolsen lends a friendly listing ear. "I see. I bet he is a handsome fellow like your daddy was?" Mrs. Toslen asks her. "Oh yes" says Mimi. "Hey how are you holding up? Moving? The new job?" Mason asks Hannah as though he read her thoughts. They head into the kitchen. "Things are hard to adjust to for her. But for me they are going pretty well. Making all kinds of friends" Hannah says smiling. "Smells good in here. What are you making?" "Fresh salad. With lemon chicken. Hope that sounds good" Mason worries. "It will be perfect" she vows. "So you are really doing okay? Want to talk about things back home? Getting home sick?" Mason asks her again. Did he know something was going on? Why was he asking her so many personal questions? "Oh I am really fine. Honest. Things are just different than what I am used to you know? I do miss my family. My friends. But I am really making such great new friends that I don't have to much time to miss my old life. My old life is one I would rather forget" sighs Hannah. "No! No!" screams Mimi unhappily. She rushes over to her mother. "What? No what?" laughs Hannah as Mimi hugs her leg. "Never forget it" Mimi begs her mother. "If you forget daddy it will be like he was never here. We can't forget or we can't catch his killer" Mimi sobs as she hugs on her mother. Now everyone at the party knew. They all looked at her with worry. Hannah hugs Mimi close. Not sure what to say next to everyone else. ♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥
