{Amara POV}
It’s been a few weeks since the “demon attack” or at least that’s what Dyson explained to me it was. I didn’t know what to think so I’ve basically been ghosting Dyson. I explained to him that I needed time to think. This is a huge life decision for me. If I decide to be with him. I’ll have to worry about my life been in danger whenever I’m with him and maybe at all times. Who knows if the demons won’t start attacking me even when Dyson’s away. Can I risk that? I know I probably shouldn’t completely ghost him. It’s not his fault he is who he is but it’s not my fault either I am who I am. Unfortunately, when a situation makes me uncomfortable I tend to run away from it (unless it’s something that I need to fight head on) and I’m only human.
“Good morning, luv. I know you’re not talking to me right now but I wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you,” I read out loud a text from Dyson. Frustrated, I throw the phone down on my bed. Ugh if he can just stop texting me every morning and night then maybe I can manage to forget about him, and I wouldn’t still be dealing with this. I shake Dyson out of my head and continued getting dress. I decided on a pair of pink biker shorts, and a oversized graphic white T-shirt, with my pink Chucks. I threw my hair and a low back ponytail and put on a white hat. Lately, I just haven’t had the energy to get dolled up everyday. I grab my keys and head out the door to meet Tensley and Stacey for breakfast.
I walk into the Chicken and Waffles restaurant and spot Tensely and Stacey waving at me in a booth near the back. I walk over and take a seat. “Hey have y’all ordered yet?” I said. “We haven’t ordered food but our server just took our drink order,” says Tensely. “Oh and we ordered you a strawberry mimosa,” says Stacey. “Thank you dolls,” I say with a smirk. “You’re welcome, doll,” Stacey says sarcastically. Tensely and I bust out laughing. “Y’all are so fake,” says Tensely. “What ever,” I say. Rolling my eyes. “Here’s your drink ladies,” the servers comes back placing the tray of drinks on the table. We all ordered the same drink as usually so she just passed one out to each of us. We all thank her and Stacey let’s her know that we’re ready to order. Of course, what would you like?” our server says. “I’ll take a steak, egg, and cheese omelette,”says Stacey. “With everything?,” the server questioned. “Yes, with everything,” Stacey answers. “And what would you like miss?” The server says while looking at me. “I’d like the chicken and waffles but instead of the dark meat, I’d like three wings and does that come with eggs,” I asked. “Yes it does. How would you like your eggs?” The server says. “I’ll take them scrambled thank you and that’s all for me.” Tensley, placed her normal order of the breakfast platter. “Really Tenz, are you ever going to try anything else on the menu,” joked Stacey. “Whatever whores. I stick with what I know,” Tensley says with a glare. “Speaking of what you know. How’s Bryce,” Stacey asks. I was hoping she wouldn’t bring up Bryce because then they’ll probably bring up Dyson and I can’t exactly tell them why I’m no longer seeing him. Although I’m not seeing him. I’d never want to tell a secret that isn’t mine to tell. “It’s going great, she says with a smile with her head down. “Oh I know what that means!” I say chiming in. “Did y’all finally do the deed?” She just smiles some more. “You w***e, Stacey says while slapping her arm. How was it?” “It was wonderful. He took his time with me and made sure I came at least three times. I think I’m falling in love, she says in a sing song voice. “Well damn, so do you think he’s a keeper?” Stacey asks. “I think so, says Tensely “but only time will tell. We still have a lot of getting to know each other to go but it’s going well so far and it’s only been few weeks.” “That’s good I chime in again. “Hopefully it stays that way and I’m happy for you, w***e. Have enough s*x for the both of us.” “Girl you’re a virgin I won’t be having enough s*x for the both of us until you actually have s*x. I still can’t believe you’ve waited this long.” “I know right, but you know me. It’s hard for me to remain focused on someone long enough to take that step. “I see, just how you dropped Dyson, like he wasn’t sh*t. After all that talk about him. You literally would not shut up about him and now your just done with him. Sometimes I just don’t get you, says. Tensely. “Yeah, well join the club.” I say meekly.
“Would you ladies like some to go plates,” the server says while handing us the bill. “No, we’re fine I say speaking for the table. Okay, I’ll be right back, she says. We all paid our portion of the bill plus left three dollars each for the tip. “When’s your next class” I asked both Tensely and Stacey. “I have a late class today. I don’t go in until three,” says Stacey. “Okay, me and Tensely don’t have our next class until four so do y’all want to go the nail shop because look at these nails.” I say showing them my acrylic nails and how bad they are lifting. “Whew Yeah, let’s go. It’s time honey, Stacey laughs.” “But seriously I need a pedicure.” “I need my nails and eyebrows arched,” Says Tensely. “Alright let’s go. I’ll drive,” I say. We make it to the nail shop and since it’s pretty early it was only one other customer there so we were able to get our pedicures started at the same time. I picked my pedicure package choosing the one that comes with everything. I turn on my message chair and let the kneads, knead the thoughts of the past few weeks away. If only life could always feel this way in this moment.
