19 LIVE AID Wednesday morning, July 10, 1985, Woodstock, Darla, and Rod tossed their duffle bags in the trunk of Woodstock’s Mercury, jumped in the car excited, and began their drive to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They talked and laughed for the first hour of the ride before Darla and Rod fell asleep as Woodstock drove. This concert’s big selling point was that it was being linked by satellite to 110 different nations around the world simultaneously.
