I was pleased but I didn't show it. I just watched from the side as Conrad handled Olivia.
"Step aside," he ordered, using his Beta tone. It left no room for argument.
She huffed, shot me a look that could curdle milk, and stepped out of the way.
I nodded slightly at Conrad. "Thank you."
He gave a short nod. "Don’t mention it. But I expect you to make us proud.”
I rolled my eyes and turned back toward the mansion, Jenna practically bouncing beside me. Making them proud must have something to do with getting pregnant as soon as possible.
"Venus," she whispered, once Olivia was out of earshot. "That was hot."
"What?"
"Conrad going all Beta mode on Olivia. Didn’t know he had it in him."
I snorted. "Please. He’s always had it in him.
