Alya's POV
“I have done nothing to you. Who are you? Let me go!”
My cries were in vain. I knew who he was. It was him. I have been hiding for almost a month, but he has finally caught me. I knew he would find me. Still, I had tried my luck and ran away from him.
I was in complete darkness because they had put a sack over my head. I was shivering and tears were streaming from my eyes. Suddenly, someone pulled the sack off my head, and it was him, right in front of me, looking at me with angry eyes.
Who? None other than… Demir Sertsoy… also known as 'Darkness'...
The man I walked into his den with my own two feet, offered myself to him, thereby changing my life in one night…
He is one of the most dangerous and ruthless mafia in the underworld. Entering his den was the biggest mistake of my life, but I had no other choice, I was forced to do it.
When our gazes met, I became even more afraid. He approached me and grabbed my chin roughly. His emerald green eyes were dark and spitting fire.
“Who am I, Alya?” he asked.
“Why am I here?” I asked instead, stammering.
“You know very well why you are here, Alya. You will give me back what you took from me!” When he said that, I knew that the problem was the file, and I became nervous.
“I swear I didn't take anything from you. Let me go. I won't go to the police!” I begged, but he started laughing coldly.
He didn’t laugh, on the contrary, he snorted. He turned to the man who was with him; his closest friend; Mirza Hanoğlu, known as the Lord of Darkness. How could I have gotten entangled with them?
“Did you hear that, Mirza? She didn't do anything!” I was even more scared when he said that.
He was going to kill me for sure, I thought, as tears continued to roll down my cheeks. Then the expression on his face gave way to rage. I was afraid of his mood swings, and to make it worse, he still hadn't let go of my chin, but was squeezing it even harder.
“I hate liars, Alya! Where is that file you stole from me and gave to that bastard called Şahin?” he asked.
Whatever happened to me, it was because of that file. I had gone into Demir's den for that file, and it was now in Şahin's hands. It was impossible for me to get it from him because I had given it in exchange to save my sister, Betül, from that man's hands. At that moment, I had no choice but to lie to Demir.
“What file are you talking about? I didn't take anything!” I said, feigning ignorance.
Demir gritted his teeth. “Do you think I'm stupid? First, you entered my room because of that file, and then you let me sleep with you.” he said.
I shook my head. “I swear, I didn't see any files! And you were very drunk that night,” I continued to plead as he squeezed my jaw harder.
“If you think you can fool me with that little mind of yours, you are wrong. What was a virgin girl doing in my den? I’ll give you the answer; he sent you to me hoping I would assume you were innocent, but I don't buy your games, Alya! Now tell me the truth!”
It was all over. My inner voice started screaming at me to tell him the truth. There was one big truth, but if I told him, my life would be over. I had to keep lying to him.
“Mr. Demir, there is no such thing as truth! I didn't take anything from you. Please let me go!”
Demir released my chin forcefully and started pacing back and forth. Then he took his gun out of his pocket and put it on my forehead.
“Say your last prayers now because you are going to die! Do you know how important that file you gave away is? The price is death!”
The cold muzzle of the gun was now on my forehead. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, I shouted, “Stop! I have to tell you something important. You can't kill me!”
Demir frowned at me.
“I'm pregnant, I'm carrying your baby.” I said hastily.
