Nira Helladoor Island Present Day     I choked on fresh water, coughed, swallowed again and kept drinking desperately from the small spring we had found. Teran’s powerful ears had guided us straight to the source, making me want to kiss the dragon the next time I saw him. The spring was hidden, safely concealed by a huge boulder and a large esplanade covered in deep green ferns. The stream falling from the spring didn’t reach too far away and it disappeared fast between mossy rocks. The water tasted almost sweet and it was cold, which made my hot skin feel relieved after the smothering humidity coming from the trees.
