Nira Helladoor Island Present Day     “So, you don’t understand a word of what I’m saying? Don’t you?” I asked the little girl and she scratched her matted hair, not really following my question. She then smiled and offered me a coconut from a gigantic mountain of fruits stocked at the back of her cavern. I smiled, accepted the precious fruit and then looked around us.      It looked as if she had been living alone there for what seemed like a long time. There was a bed made out of dried leaves, a primitive looking table formed by plain rocks and cups that had been carved out of coconut shells.
