Bethel's POV
Slowly, I opened my eyes, only to force them shut immediately as the sun's rays hit them directly.
After a few moments, I slowly opened them again to a strange environment. I couldn't figure out how I had ended up there.
I tried sitting up and, oh damn, my entire body felt tired and sore, as though I had just finished doing something extremely strenuous.
I looked beside me and noticed a man lying next to me.
The first thing that entered my mind was, What have I done?
Slowly and shakily, I lifted the sheet covering his body.
Oh!
He was butt naked!
My heart started thumping violently inside my chest, and I prayed it wasn't what I thought it was. But it was exactly what I thought it was.
I quickly covered him again, but my heart continued racing dangerously.
I couldn't believe I had slept with a total stranger.
I couldn't believe this was actually happening.
And where did this man even come from?
The last thing I could remember was being at a party.
I was humiliated after my ex-boyfriend disgraced me in front of thousands of students, which made me start drinking out of anger. Of course, one of the drinks I was given had been drugged.
As soon as I felt something was wrong, I left the party.
That was all I could remember.
I just didn't know how I ended up here.
Without thinking twice, I decided I didn't want any scandal over this. I had better leave before he woke up.
Almost immediately, he turned his face, and my breath caught in my throat.
He was handsome.
When I say handsome, I mean HANDSOME!
I couldn't help but stare at him.
Following that little perverted voice in my head, I slowly pulled the sheet down again to reveal his chest.
Was it something a pervert would do?
Yes.
But the dude was looking a little too fine.
I just couldn't help it. Gotta admit it.
He moved slightly, and I jerked out of my fantasy.
I hurriedly put on my clothes, picked up my belongings from where they had been thrown, and rushed out of the room, completely ignoring the soreness in my body.
I couldn't help but notice the interior of the house. Everywhere screamed luxury and elegance.
I didn't waste time exploring.
I rushed toward the main door. It was a little difficult to find at first, but since I had been in houses like this before, I eventually found it.
Luckily, I was able to leave without the security guards making a fuss.
I walked a short distance before reaching a busy road.
I hailed a cab and headed to my apartment.
On my way home, I couldn't stop thinking about him.
If this ever got out, I would be in so much trouble.
I tried my best to remember how I had met him, but I couldn't.
It was as though my memory from that moment had been erased.
Besides, I didn't think I would ever have another major encounter with him again.
My name is Bethel Louis, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Ayomide Louis and the heiress to Louis Ltd. LLC, the fourth most successful company in Nigeria.
I am twenty-two years old and in my final year at the university, studying Business Administration.
To be honest, I'm not very good at it.
That's because I'll eventually take over my family's business, even though my true passion is music.
Since I wasn't doing well academically, my parents hired private tutors for me.
None of them had ever lasted more than a month.
It was Saturday, and of course, I lived in my parents' villa.
As soon as I entered the villa, I saw my mum in the garden.
I tried to sneak past her, but she caught me anyway.
"Bethel, where did you sleep yesterday? I called your friend Ella, and she told me everything. Are you okay?"
She asked as she walked closer to me.
"Yes, Mum. I'm fine," I replied.
She gave me that I know you're lying look.
Then I sighed softly.
"Mum, I'll be fine," I blurted out, hoping she wouldn't ask any more questions.
"Dear, you know you can tell me anything, right?" she said as she straightened my clothes.
I nodded.
"Alright, dear. Go and freshen up. Make sure you eat something. Your new tutor will be here any minute. And please, dear... be nice."
A new tutor?
Well, this one wouldn't even last a week.
I just had that feeling.
I nodded before heading upstairs to freshen up.
Afterward, I climbed onto my bed and scrolled through my phone to see if there was any scandal or news relating to the man I had spent the night with.
There was nothing.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
Then I closed my eyes, intending to take a quick nap.
A soft knock sounded on my door.
I didn't bother checking who it was.
I already knew.
Another old, frustrated tutor willing to do anything just to get paid.
I'd frustrate him even more.
Either he'd quit...
Or probably have a heart attack.
"Come in," I said almost immediately.
I heard footsteps approaching, but I still didn't open my eyes.
"I don't feel like learning today," I said lazily. "Because I hate you already."
As usual, I expected a response.
But none came.
That made me curious.
I slowly opened my eyes.
Standing there was a tall figure, walking toward me.
My breath hitched.
My entire body froze in shock.
My heart pounded wildly against my chest as though I had just finished running a marathon.
HE'S MY TUTOR?
