CHAPTER ONE: SIXTEEN YEARS AGO
"Its a girl." the midwife says to the mother of the child as she hands the baby over to her but there is only one thing on the woman's mind the turns the baby over and gasps for on the baby's shoulder she see's what she feared she would, the mark of the called one's.
"I must hide her, please help me." she says to the midwife.
"But why, the child is a blessing for she is called."
"My father would kill her he hates the called one's, he hunts the called one's, please help me it is why I came here, he doesn't know I was pregnant."
"What do you want me to do."
"Hide the baby among humans who have no knowledge of the called ones."
The midwife looks down at the woman and gasps. "You are bleeding."
"Just hide the baby, please protect her." The woman begs as she hands the baby over to the midwife, she takes a long breath.
The midwife looks at the baby such a beautiful little one that her heart melts she turns back and doesn't see the woman anymore she cleans the place, packs some necessary things, wraps the baby in a shawl and heads out.
After travelling for two days the midwife settles at a place and waits for night to fall, as night falls she puts the baby in a box, takes the baby out with her and drops her in between two gates.
